question about transferring points....

I've recently signed a small contract at OKW. Can one member transfer their points points out from another member in the same way as renting? If so, is the receiving member allowed to bank those points? Also, once transferred to me, will the points usage fall under my use year or the original owner's? I'm currently renting points from someone as a non-member... I want to see if the member will just be able to transfer those points to my account instead of renting from them since I will have my own membership by then.

I asked MS about this. They said that the points would retain their use year of the original owner but would take on the home resort of the transferree. So, if you own OKW, then points transferred in would be OKW points. I have read other posts on this board where the points were transferred in as points from whichever resort they came from but this is not guaranteed. I hope this helps but I would address the question directly to MS.

As far as renting points, if the reservation has already been made, the renter would have to cancel the reservation and then transfer the points to you, and then you make the reservation. Not a problem if the resort and days you need are still available, but, you could lose your reservation otherwise.
