Question about transfering points

I've done this once in the past but I don't recall what the rules are for transfering.

Here's what we are going to do. We are planning a large family reunion trip in Dec '07. Yes I know it's a long way off but I'm planning this trip for 20 people and I'd like to get all the points I need transfered to me before the end of the year so I can call exactly on the 11 month window and do a day by day resservation.

What do I need to know before I start paying for transfered points?

My use year is Feb. When I did this a few years ago I think that the transfered points took on my use year. Is this still how it works?

I would think that if I start buying points now I could bank them to my '07 use year and then book the Dec. '07 trip in Jan. '07 with all my banked points. Is this correct?

I'm not sure, but if you are booking at the 11 month window, do you need the transfered points to be at the same DVC resort you own at? That is the first big question and the other is as far as banking, would the banked point you are getting transfered go on your use year of the person who transfered, I don't know. You should call ms and ask all these questions. You need to know these before you go too far. Make sure you have all these working for you when you are ready to call your reservation in.

Thanks. When I did this last time the points were transfered into my use year. I just don't know if that's changed or not.

As far as being at the same resort I think they do in order to book at the 11 month window. I'm just not sure.

Hi, if I'm not mistaken, you can't bank transferred points :-( I could be wrong though...

I think I was able to bank them last time. Is that a new rule??
