Question about transfering between resorts

Our family has wanted to stay at the Polynesian Resort for a long time, but we haven't stayed there because of the expense. On previously posts, it was mentioned that people stay at several resorts during a visit to Disney World. If we were to stay at the Polynesian Resort for 2 or 3 nights :yay: and then transfer to a moderate resort for the remaining trip, can the Polynesian Resort transfer our luggage to a moderate resort? Can we "drop off" our luggage in the morning, go to a park, and then go to the new resort and expect our luggage to be there by evening? Is there a fee for this service (if it is available)? If this service is not available, how do people transfer their luggage from one resort to the next? We are just trying to find an affordable way to stay at the Polynesian Resort. :dance3:
Thanks!!!!

Yes, WDW will transfer luggage for you, for free, between their resorts. In your example, you would call bell services at the Poly in the a.m., and have them pick up your bags, and let them know where to transfer them to. At some magic point during the day, they will get moved to your next resort. I've done this once before, and they said the bags would be at bell services at the new resort by 4:00 p.m., and they were. Just had to call them from the new room, and have them bring them up to us.

Be sure to take things (meds, personal, etc...) with you that you may need during the day.

We tipped bell services on both pick up and delivery.

It really is a nice feature, and easy to use. Have fun.

This is exactly what we did to be able to get a chance to try the Poly. We started at the Poly and then moved to PORS. It was very easy.:thumbsup2 They took care of all the baggage and we just enjoyed our normal day at the parks. Our bags were waiting for us when we checked into PORS later that night. Beware of one problem though.:scared1: You may just fall in love with the Poly and have to find a way to spend a full vacation there next time. :yay: That's what happened to us. Have Fun!

We are doing the same thing in July. We will be at the Contemporary for 9 nights, then we'll move to the Poly for 4 more nights. We've also wanted to try the Poly, but we like to stay for 10 - 12 nights and with the high rates, I just can't justify it for that long. This is a really good way to try a deluxe and not break the bank. We like to leave the more expensive resort for the later part of the trip, relax and enjoy what it has to offer...:cloud9:

Remember, if you are on a package or dining, when you change resorts, you start a new package. We were going to do this, but losing the dining plan made it way more $$$$$

I did this a few weeks ago but went by cab. We were in CBR for one night moving to VWL..Bell services came for our bags at 10:20 on the dot :thumbsup2
He drove us, in the shuttle, to the main part of the resort where he transferred our luggage into a cab and off we went. We were in VWL WITH OUR LUGGAGE by 11:15. The cab was less then $15, well worth it, rather then waiting for your suitcases!

Thanks for your answers!!! We are also afraid that we will LOVE the Polynesian and not want to go to the moderate resort, so we were thinking of going to the moderate first and then end our trip at the Polynesian!!!:yay: :yay:

That's what I would do too: start at the mod and upgrade to the deluxe.

We did a split stay once. Sports then AKL. It was an awesome way to try a deluxe (also, we got a Code). I highly recommend to always move up. That way you are never disappointed and will enjoy both resorts to the fullest.
