Hi..I have a set of 3 pins from Beauty and the Beast, in a velveteen case (with the outside cardboard) that contains (I'm not sure of their correct names) Mrs, Pots with a baby teapot connected), the candlestick and the clock guy.
I have no interest in them and when I'm at DD in the World next week, I want to trade them to get as many pins as I can to trade for pins I want. I hate to break up the set, with the case, to just trade as three pins. Anyone have any idea, if this is worth more than three regular pins, or how I would go about trading this..do I just suggest at the table, that I would like so many pins in exchange? I'm not particular what pins I get back, since I just have fun trading off of CM's. Thanks for any info.

Hi Doris,

I think the set you are describing is 4190 on pinpics.com. It is described as:

"3 piece gift set of the Beauty and the Beast's Lumiere, Mrs. Potts with son Chip, and Cogsworth the Clock, in a faux velvet case. Given out at the Disney Stores and The US Parks during the March 3-4, 2001 WDCC Event as a gift when Belle's "Great Wide Somewhere" figure was purchased. This set was also sold at retail stores that carry WDCC."

As you can see, it was free with the purchase of a WDCC sculpture. I purchased this pinset on e*** for $10.00 shortly after it's release...I don't know what it sold for in retail stores.

I'm not sure what advice to give you regarding trading....it is not highly desired as a set according to pinpics, but personally I like to try to keep sets together...

Any other opinions?

Yes, that's it..I also got mine on e. I got it cheap enough to use individually to trade..but I'm having guilt feelings of breaking up the set : )

So, I'd rather trade it for extra pins at DW.

What does it mean on pinpics when it lists how many people want the set?

Thanks for the info!
Doris

Doris,

When you register with pinpics, you can list pins that you want and pins that you have available to trade. Most people use the trading/wanting numbers as a guideline to how desireable or undesireable a pin is. For instance, pin number 1098, the Haunted Mansion Dangle has 6 people trading and 502 people wanting...that tells us that it is a very rare pin and will be very difficult to trade for. Your Beauty and the Beast set has 25 people offering the set for trade, and 35 people wanting to acquire it. Because the numbers are so close, and because the set was very easy to acquire to beging with, this set should be easy to trade for, which also means that you probably shouldn't expect something extraordinary for it.

I hope this makes sense...Have a great time and let us know how your trade turns out!:D
