Hello. We are staying at the Riviera in Jan (using the visa discount). If we wanted to set up a tour, could we just do it there or does it have to be at SSR? I was thinking about trying to do it on our arrival day if possible, but I don't want to waste travel time if we can avoid it.

If they make you go to SSR, they will pick you up from anywhere on property and drop you off at the end of the tour

We will have 8 ppl in our party. Does everyone have to go? We are traveling with my sister in law and her family, and they are not interested in DVC, so there's no need for them to go really.

No only those that want to need to go! However, they may offer them a free gift card for attending. And some additional FPs for the group.

Which actually may work to your advantage ... we did the tour on our split stay move day, so we checked out of the hotel, dropped our luggage off to be transferred, and did the tour, then were driven to the front entrance of HS (rather than walking or taking the bus, yay), and then took the bus to VGF when we were done with HS.

I'm not sure if the Riv will have a DVC tour area up and running already, but I did just take a tour at the Poly when I stayed there last week, and also had the opportunity to tour at the Wilderness Lodge. So you don't HAVE to go the SSR route. :) (Though there's no ice cream or granduer at Poly/Wilderness tour-wise. It's just a hotel room with a TV.) But even if you tour at the Riv (or Poly, WL) you will still get a free drop off of your choosing.

If you are not staying at WL can you still arrange a tour? Would love to do that. Do they talk about the building of the hotel and the special Disney effects and details? :tigger:

Ha, no. They talk about buying a timeshare.

Perhaps they were thinking this is the Wonders of the Wilderness Lodge tour.... If not this tour gets into this specifically. As far as I know you don’t have to be staying there to do it but it’s only offer morning hours.

Yeah. But the DVC tour won't. Not sure the guides have ever done the Wonders tour, which is sad.

Agreed, I know it doesn’t. I was providing the tour the poster seemed interested in and providing the details of that tour. But yeah the sales guides should take it though the one that provided my tour did say she took it multiple times and she was accurate in details from when I went. So I got lucky with that guide.

Thanks We like taking tours in Disney Each detail we learn is so amazing.
They stopped the Boardwalk resort tours which were so interesting and the tour guide was
so full of little vignettes about the 1920's in New Jersey and how they designed the hotel.

I mean why add value when you can release transportation that breaks down randomly, beds that fall off walls, waffles that cost $50, do it on land that use to demand $200/night but now is $600/night.

I am sorry, but this type of post is nothing but sarcastic. This doesn’t in anyway add to the conversation.

Lets try to keep posts constructive please.
