Hey everyone!

First off, let me apologize for putting this in the WDW forum, but I couldn't find a "Tokyo" message board. Hopefully someone here might be able to help us out!

Elissa and I are heading to Tokyo Disneyland this New Years and after reading all the "horror stories" about crowds and such on the internet, I'm wondering how much of it is really "true" and how much is exaggerated? Kind of like when I read all the horror stories and long lines about the July 17th, 2005 DLR 50th B-day, but in reality, it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

We will be at the park from the 2am - ??? opening time, not for the New Year's Eve Private Party.

Here are some questions that I have:

1. Is the park really THAT insanely packed from like 2am to 7am?

2. Does that day sell out?

3. Are all the attractions open the entire operating hours?

4. Can you park hop? (assuming we have been in the previous two days on our hopper)

5. Do you really need to wait in line 10 hours to get in at 2am?

We'll be buying a 4-day park hopper and we'll be at Disney Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday with the 2am day starting on Sunday morning.

Thanks for your help!

I went to Tokyo Disneyland for Christmas and New Years in 2003. Yes, it is true that it's really crowded for those days. You could be late to buy a ticket for New Years right now. You have to buy the ticket for the New Years event in advance. I didn't know that and when I tried to buy one, they were sold out. The others day when I was there, the parks were crowded. There were long lines and people put towels and blankets by the parade route (Disneyland) hours in advance. So take a towel or blanket with you. Since I couldn't enter the parks on Dec. 31, I went to the mall near Disneyland, found a good spot and recorded the fireworks and the part of the laser show that could be seen from there. I was not the only person there. There were many people watching the fireworks from the same place and waiting for the mall stores to open at 12:00 a.m for the big shopping day of the new year. There was a disney Store there with good promotions but that is another story. :earsgirl:

We won't be there on New Year's day, but are planning to go in Jan, Feb, or March...all depending on DH job. I am hoping it can be in January or February so it can coincide with the FEW days that happen to be value season there!!

Just had to say hi, and have a great time! Hope to be there soon after you! :teeth:
