I keep seeing the deal with the buy one adult/get childs free but my kids are 6 and 11. Since we're limited on time, isn't it still our best bet to try to get the 1 day/2 park tickets at the gate?

Anyone who's been recently can tell if that's still the case? We leave in two weeks...

Yes, the one day/two park tickets at the gate are $69.95 plus tax.

Are the 1 day/2 park tickets for everyone, or just Florida residents? And can you only buy them at the gate? Is there any reason why Universal doesn't mention them anywhere?

The one day/two park tickets are the major ticket that they sale at the gates. It is for everyone. They can only be bought at the ticket booths or the self-serve kiosks near the ticket booths, not online.

Is there any reason why Universal doesn't mention them anywhere?

Universal has certain offers that you can only get online and certain offers you can only get at the gates. They've always done it that way. For instance, you can only buy the Bonus tickets online (the buy two days get two or three days free). The one day/two park ticket is only offered at the parks not online.
