Question about the no show fee for missing people

I know for a normal Disney reservation if less people show up for the reservation you won't be charged a no show fee for the missing people. Does this also work for non-Disney restaurants, specifically the Garden Grove at the Swan? I booked it through the Disney website, but the only reservation I could get for Thanksgiving was for 4 people and it'll just be two of us. Since they aren't Disney owned I was wondering if the rules are the same or if we'll be charged for the two missing people.

Not sure...

Is it available through Open Table? If so, I've never seen an Open Table take anything for a deposit, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Then again, for Thanksgiving they might be more strict either way since they ARE going to lose out on 2 additional people who could have been there on a busy dining day.

There isn't anything available on Opentable the entire day. And nothing else is available. I'll be annoyed if they charge me. Maybe I'll say my invisible friends have joined us lol.

I called, but they apparently don't open again until 5pm so I'll try calling them back. I'm just worried if they touch my reservation they'll cancel it and I'll end up with nothing.

Is it standard on holidays that the no show fee is charged for any missing person from the reservation?

I honestly have no idea. I've never booked a Swan/Dolphin restaurant through WDW. I've always called or used opentable.

I called and she said it should be no problem. She also said once the reservation comes into their system she should be able to modify it down to 2

You won't be charged for missing people on the reservation. Only if no one shows up.

ADR "NO-SHOW" CANCELLATION FEES 411:
ALL Table Service eateries, both Disney-owned and non-Disney-owned are covered by this policy.
.
1) The rule says you are charged $10 per person for "no-show" ADR's.
. . . penalty applies when none of the party appears for the ADR
. . . penalty does not apply as long as one or some guests in party appear
2) The "no-show" penalty procedure
. . . podium person lists ADR as no-show (checks "On Hold" box in computer)
. . . usually after 30-minutes tardiness you are marked as a "no-show"
. . . once listed as "no-show", your name and number of your guests are listed
. . . the computer is reviewed by a manager at the end of the operating day
. . . the eatery manager SOLELY determines whether or not to charge you
. . . if charged, the cost penalty is on your credit/debit card immediately
. . . there are no exceptions for missing ADR's for such things as late flights
. . . if worried about late/delayed flights, don't book a TS meal until well after arrival time
. . . there are NO exceptons for being delayed due to crowded WDW rides or attractions
. . . it is up to you to plan you day to meet ADR times
. . . if you get there and decide not to wait for your ADR< you WILL be charged the no-show-fee
3) Exceptions - policy
. . . penalty is not assessed for cancellations made the day before ADR
. . . the ADR must be canceled by 11:59pm the previous day to avoid a no-show penalty
. . . for prepaid meals, there are 24-48 hour cancel periods (eg: CRT, HDDR, Luau, BBQ)
. . . no-shows for prepaid meals are still charge the full price, unless cancelled within the cancel period
4) Exceptions - not policy, and at manager's discretion
. . . cancellations for lunch/dinner made early in the same day
. . . you come to the eatery ANYTIME during the same day and apologize
. . . a few minutes tardy, podium person usually will not denote you as "On Hold"
5) No-Show Penalty Trial Period Backstory
. . . this was done on a trial-basis for 4-weeks in Epcot
. . . cut down no-shows by over 75% at Epcot eateries
. . . Le Cellier cut daily no-shows to 1-page from 2-3 pages
. . . now a policy, as no-shows greatly can reduce eatery revenue
. . . a no-show takes a ressie someone else might have kept
. . . the policy was then trialed for character meals and signature meals
. . . being so successful, it is in effect for almost all table service meals across-the-property

omgoodness thank u soo much, my hubby not a fan of the char meals so i couldnt decide if i should add him or not , he says maybe he'll go so i feel better making them for 4 and maybe just the 3 of us showing up..i have some for 4 and 3 so ill cancel the 3 seatings..

just out of curiosity, does this apply when for "prepaid" meals that are actually not prepaid when on the dining plan?
For example, party of seven has ressie at HDDR. They are on ddp, so credits are held...two don't show up for whatever reason.
Do the two that missed dinner lose the credits?

So I'm not sure if the app was fixed or I just got lucky, but I was able to change my reservation from 4 to 2 even though there wasn't another reservation available. Now I'm worried the restaurant might cancel it by accident since I gave them my name to modify the reservation.

You won't be charged for missing people only if you are a complete no show....
