Question about the mugs...

What's really laughable is that, I've obviously been here too long. I'm almost looking for the dis-holier-than-thou crowd to come out of the woodwork these days when I'm at the world, spouting "rules" they intrepreted from random DIS postings...

It is like when you drop a piece of candy- out of nowhere- the ants converge!:sad2:

AMEN! :cheer2:Preach on Sister!:cheer2:

There are times I am simply AMAZED by the things some people use to feely holier than thou about.

I was waiting for someone to say it's not right, somebody ALWAYS has to come on a thread and start trouble :headache: and post negative thoughts and get the thread locked which will probably happen. Yes, it is your right to say what you want but some people can't afford to buy mugs for EVERYBODY in their group. The economy sucks and families that are lucky enough to even go to Disney in these tough times deserve to save money anyway they can. Yes I do reuse my mugs when I go. Disney gets enough of my money when I visit and it's nice to keep some money in my pocket and not in Disney's when I leave.

Stating her opinion isn’t starting trouble.

People don't buy extra mugs, because they don't want to, not because they can't afford to.

If you can't afford an extra mug or two or three . . . maybe it's time to rethink the trip. Just postpone it a few weeks or months until you can afford it.

That rambling on, was meant to be tongue, and cheek right??:rotfl::rotfl:

You are very funny. Are you finished with your skit yet??:confused3

This is funny, not mean.:rotfl:

I shall not get into anymore senseless banter. With stand up comics, and the like. The "Holier than thou skit." Has me cracking up still though. Where did you pull that one from?.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Truthfully and honestly. What you say. Or assume about me. I take this with a grain of salt. I could really care less. :goodvibes

Hi DisneyJunkie. I see you are heading down cool. I can't wait!!:goodvibes

uh oh... I better be careful when I go back in September, If I accidentally take my DD's red handled mug instead of my own back to the food court I will technically be drinking soda out of her mug, therefore STEALING the soda! I had better watch my step!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao::hippie:

Are they worth it? Can we just buy a few? We will have 6 in our party, but what If I buy 2 (as souvies for my DD's to take home) and whenever any of us want to use it (me for my morning coffee, then rinse it out and have any of us use them throughout the day... will that work?) Can we refill them in the park or only at the hotel?? what all is included? water, soda, coffee? Let me know :) Thanks!!

I bought 2 from the hotel ... costs about 13 a piece. Really not worth it to me as I am not a coffee or soda drinker. I did use it 3 times out of the 7 days. I bought them more for souveniers. We did buy 2 at blizzard beach and they were 10 bucks a pieces, very big and could refill all day long. Totally worth it. I am actually drinking out of it now. They are nice and big and I love them.

And no you can only use them in the hotel you purchased them from. I guess all the hotels have the same mug as they did not say our hotel name on them. But i did ask at the parks and they said no that you could not use them. Well you can but its not a free refill. And they are good for coffee, hot cocoa and sodas. Not milk or juice.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Price went up to $13 from $12??? We think the mugs are very worth it but only if you're a coffee or soda addict. Doesn't pay if you only drink water. However, we did buy 4 for our family of 4; they're a nice souvenier. We like the larger ones from CSR or BC best. The ones from ASMo are much smaller but the fact they fit in the car cup holders is a plus.

I wouldn't dare take mine back; they're far too worn (paint's off in many places) now & EVERYONE would notice.

Well the original program actually was for the "life of the cup"... now it's length of stay. So if you have one of the original mugs, you can bring them back and use them as that's what the terms and conditions were when you purchased the mug. I see lots of old mugs at WL and Fort Wilderness.

Part of the reason why they went to one design was for cost cutting, now if one resort is short they can transfer mugs to that resort, but also because many people do split stays. They want to stay at a deluxe resort but can only afford a value, so they do only a couple nights at the deluxe and the rest at the value. Because you're still on your "length of stay" you can use your pop mug at the contemporary...

They're definatly good cups and we use ours all the time at home. Really great cup for the car.

I do not think that is correct. I know a lot of people who try and save money, and mugs for however many people can be quite an expense. I think the OP is smart to consider how much use she will get out of this expense, and I feel she, as is anyone else who considers a purchase before the outlay of cash, is smart. I prefer to spend my money wisely, not just throw it away. Just because people think before they spend should not reflect their financial status. I personally would never assume something like that about another person.

What negative thoughts, did I post? How am I starting trouble? The economy sucks right now for everyone yes that is true. But, that does not mean the rules change. Disney is banking on people being honest. Doing the right thing.

It amazes me how people try to "cheat" the system. Then get all emotional about it, when someone points it out. :rolleyes1

We usually buy one for all of us but honestly, if we chose not to buy one for my DGD and she had her one drink from my cup I would not think I cheated Disney. She is not a soda drinker, had more drinks left for her CS meals and snacks than she could drink so the purchase is a total waste. We did not buy one for my niece when she joined us and she drank water from Kady's and maybe a coffee once in a while. Between the two of them I doubt they paid for the mug

ITA. For my family a mug for my DH or for my DGD would never be economical. If we bought one and they shared they still could not pay for the mug, we just like them at home to remind us of the trip.

That is a great point. The only reason DH and I buy 2 mugs is b/c of our morning coffee- he likes his black- I prefer cream in mine. If it were not for the coffee, we would share. I NEVER finish a whole drink. It would be a waste.

Hmmm- so you might say if someone is buying one mug to share, you are actually being more considerate! Waste not, want not. Right?!:confused3

We bought one mug for the two of us on our last trip, and will likely do the same on the next trip. We always share drinks at home. Especially at Disney, we try not to drink too much soda.
