I really want to see this movie, but would love to see it with my kids. As some of you remember, I am a very big Olympics fan and love all things olympics. I would love to share this with my kids. My question is, is it appropriate for a 5 year old? Will she get bored? Thanks!

I am dieing to go see that Miracle....if it is ok for kids it would make my life a lot easier. So I don't know the answer, but I would like to know the answer. :D

The movie review guy here for our TV Stations said it got 4 out of 4 stars for kids. Said the whole family will love it!

I can't wait to see it. I will probably bawl..

i need to know too. My four year old DS wants to see it as well. What is the lang. like??

From the detailed reviews it sounds like a great movie, but maybe I'll wait for video or cable. That game is one of the first "where were you when" moments in my life, so I would love to see this story played out in more detail. Our kids are a bit too young to sit through a movie that isn't Pixar or Disney...

I just got back from Miracle. Just DH and I went and we both liked it. It is kind of long for my DD (she's only 4) at 2 hours and 15 minutes. If your 5yo has a longer attention span, I think it's a good movie for kids. There's only mild swearing (I think I heard the *a* word once), similar to what you'd hear on Friends.

Gives you that good old patriotic feeling again though....and of course, I cried when they won even though I knew it was coming and saw it live when I was 12.

It IS a great family movie (saw sneak preview last week Little kids might be a little restless .... unless they are particularly into hockey...I know my 5 1/2 yr old nephew will LOVE it....but he's a sports nut. Don't get me wrong, you don't have to like hockey or sports to enjoy the movie...and there's nothing objectionable at all.......the length just might be a problem for real small kids who aren't particularly grabbed by the sports action, and who are too young to really get into the underlying story of teamwork and the political/social context.
It's definitely not inappropriate, I hope you give it a try and have a good time!!

ahutton....just thought I'd point out that Miracle is a Disney film..:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We just returned from seeing the movie...and WOW! It was terrific! Even knowing the end result, I was still on the edge of my seat. Each time they won, people in the theater started clapping like we were at a real game.

Saw it for the second time tonight. I saw it the first time about a month ago at DTD. Still gives me goosebumps. Makes me sad and makes me come away feeling the best I have felt all week (this week was a week from heck at work).

When we saw it the first time, my son (10 yrs old) fell asleep. Course he was up at 4:45AM that day to head to the Disney marathon. There were a lot of kids in our audience and it was packed.

Everyone cheered and clapped. It was great to hear all the clapping at the end of the movie, too. Very few people left until the photos of the actors and what the real team members are doing now were over.

I can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

We saw the movie tonight and loved it. The place was backed and there was even a youth hockey team there as a group. I think the movie is great for kids and the language wasn't bad at all. I think I heard one objectionable word in the whole film and it wasn't bad.

Having said that I do think the movie isn't for little kids. We had a row of 4-5 year olds behind us and they all seemed bored. They talked throughout the whole movie and kept switching seats and other things. I think the older kids really enjoyed it and it teaches a great lesson of teamwork. Just think it isn't really for little kids.

Just my 2 cents and you of course know your own kids and what they would or wouldn't like.
