A friend of mine is going to Disney March 20th, she will be using the magical express. How does it work from Canada. Once she gets in Orlando, does she have to get her luggages or does the Magical Express take care of it...
I would really like to get a step-by-step way to proceed... Thank you for your help...
Step by step...
Pre-clearing customs in Canada
1) Receive DME package 2-3 weeks before the trip. (If it hasn't arrived 2 weeks before the trip then call DME 866-599-0951 and request they courier another package. Sometimes they have problems getting the package across the border.)
2) Put yellow DME luggage tags on luggage while at home.
3) Clear customs at airport in Canada then drop off luggage.
4) Arrive in Orlando. Leave the plane and head straight to the DME check-in desk on the transportation level on B side of airport.
5) Take the DME to the hotel.
6) Luggage will arrive about 2 - 4 hours after the plane arrived. No need to be in the room when the luggage arrives.
Clearing customs in Orlando
1) Receive DME package 2-3 weeks before trip.
2) Do
not put yellow DME tags on luggage.
3) Check bags at airport.
4) Arrive in Orlando. Leave plane and head to baggage claim to get luggage.
5) Clear customs.
6) Head to DME check-in with the luggage.
7) Take luggage on DME to hotel
Note: Some people like to claim their own luggage and take it with them on the DME whether they pre-clear customs in Canada or not. ALso, pack a carry-on with a couple of days worth of clothes just incase the luggage takes a side trip courtesy the airline
