Question about the Hard Rock Hotel

My kids want to stay at Hard Rock when we do Universal. I prefer the cheaper one Royal Pacific. I am worried that there will be loud rock and roll music blasting everywhere you go. Does anyone know if this is true or not? My kids think I'm an old fart...and they are probably right. I don't hate rock and roll...I just hate loud music.

I've stayed at the RP and visited the HR and PB. There really isn't loud rock and roll playing but the hotel feels "sterile" to me. My kids and I both prefer the other hotels. One thing though: the pool at RP is geared to kids while the pool at HR is geared to teens/adults but you can pool-hop to the other two resorts anyways so that's what we did. So, we saved a bundle staying at RP and spent one afternoon at each of the two other resorts, one night having dinner at the pool bar at HR and one afternoon having Gellato at the ice cream shop at PB. Good luck and have fun -- we love Universal!

No, the music isn't loud and blasting. My kids (5, 6 and 8) love the Hard Rock. We stayed there two years ago and are going back in July. Its great to be able to walk over to Universal and the pool was great. Kids loved the slide. We really liked renting the cabana also.

Any suggsestions for getting a discounted rate the the US hotels? We have never stayed onsite but wuld love to try. I used the Loews site and rates are pricy.

Please hop over to the Universal section of this board and you can find a lot of info.

We stayed in HRH, in Oct with my mom and dad (old farts), Me (27 yr old), My sis and B-I-L (middle aged), my 2 nephews (ages 6, 9) and my niece (age 2).

We stayed in disney the week before and then at Universal for 3 days. Pretty much the only thing that we agreed on, the entire trip was we loved HRH. I am trying to think of a way to go back. There was no loud blasty music anywhere in the hotel.

I would say the best way for one person to get an AP. Rates usually drop for AP holders, a month before, based on availability. AAA rates are also usually lower.

ALso, try Universal Vacations for discount rates, they offered buy three nights get one free for more dates and then children stay and play free. It was a good deal. Just remember Universal Vacations have strict cancellations penalties, so ask about their cancelation fees before booking
