Question About the Flu UPDATE

How are you feeling today Christine? Is the fever gone?

Well, I'm still at home. My *fever* is still in the mid 99 range (which I realize isn't really a fever and I don't feel like I have a fever) but I also don't feel right.

I ended up quitting my amoxicillan is nothing good was coming of it and I was having excessive thirst and urine like water since I started it. I tell you, it was like pure water. Things in that area are normalizing finally, but I was starting to wonder if I was have some weird reaction to the antibiotic that was raising my temperature and making me feel bad. Considering it was doing no good, I feel okay stopping it.

I still have my cough. It is more active; yet, more dry and unproductive. I feel more of tickle there than what I had before. I have had lesser periods of having to hack up that mucous hairball. Based on what Pea-N-Me said, I realized that I do have my son's old nebulizer in the closet so I gave myself a treatment earlier today (never used one before). I'm not sure if it did anything but I'm sure it takes more than one try.

This sucks.

Always, Always always take a probiotic with antibiotics - especially Clindamyacin - the diarrhea they are talking can lead to c.diff (infection of intestines)-but a probiotic like those found in yogurt can keep the good gut bacteria going and help keep the bad gut bacteria from taking over.

Yes!!! My sis recently got C.diff after taking clindamyacin, and it took FOREVER to get it under control.

How's everyone doing?

On Tuesday (yesterday), I *finally* got down to a normal body temperature all day and seems to be holding for today. So that was 11 days with a fever of some sort. I actually suspect that the antibiotic I started the previous Thursday was causing the low-grade fever and other issues because when I stopped it, I improved.

What I'm left with is a constant, annoying cough. Most times it is non-productive but every so often I get a loose mucous sound and cough up some crud. I just had to run out to the store and get some cough drops and guafenisen. I need to try to suppress the cough to some degree because it's just constant. Oddly enough, I'm not coughing at night. All very weird.

I'm still at home. At least I can telework. I don't think my coworkers want to hear this coughing all day.
