Question about the DP deal

If I purchase an AP pass, does this mean I cannot participate in free dining if it is offered again this year? If I remember correctly the guidelines for being able to get free dining were that you had to book the entire vacation package with disney, including tickets. Am I right? (hopefully not).

I might need to explain a bit more so I can get the right answer. I wanted to buy that special ticket so I could use it for Disneyland and Disneyworld in the same year, but I would be going to Disneyland first and using the ticket there first...if that makes sense.

No one, not even annual passholders, can get free dining without purchasing park tickets as part of your package. As of last year, you must purchase a minimum 2 day base ticket for each person on your package (except those under 3 years old) to be eligible for free dining. It used to be a 1 day ticket but they've expanded the minimum requirement.

The park tickets don't expire until they are used (so they can be held for future use if you want), and they can be used to upgrade to an annual. Of course, since you want the Premier pass, I am not sure what the rules are about upgrading an existing multiday WDW ticket to a premier pass. Since you are going to Disneyland first, you will already have the premier pass when you arrive at WDW, so the upgrading option won't help you anyway.

Annual passholders can book ticketless packages if they pay for the dining plan. The ticketless option is not available for the free dining promotion.
