Just came back from a wonderful trip to the world. First time renting points from someone. The boardwalk villas was beautiful! Well, im in the process of hopefully booking a trip to the world December, most likely Dec 18th-23rd. Right now I am thinking of booking through disney at the Pop Century through disney because I want to get the dining plan. I know DVC members are about to get the dining plan available to them, and i think it will be an option available to members.

Here's my question: I would much rather stay at the boardwalk villas and I think my whole stay will be in the value season. I don't really want theme park tickets since we are trying to have a non-theme park vacation (I hope its fun). Is it a toss up whether or not DVC members will have the dining plan option still available to them come December? Also, anyone know for sure whether renters will be able to take advantage of the dining plan?

Thanks for the help! :wave2:

Since the Dining Plan for DVC stays doesn't start until April, I doubt very seriously it would be discontinued prior to your December trip. Renters will be eligible for the plan. Just let the person you rent from know that you want the plan, and they can make arrangements for it when they make your ressie, or you can add the plan if you call Member Services to confirm your reservation. You'll pay for dining plan when you check into your DVC resort, but it must be linked to your ressie by member services before you arrive at the resort.

Remember that even if you had to buy the ticket, you don't have to use it that trip, you could save it for later and I suspect, even trade it in on a different pass type later.

Don't wait too long to rent the BWV reservation if that's what you plan to do. The BWV is a very popular place during the last 3 months of the year (especially in December). Even though it is value season and not the busiest time for the parks, many DVC members love to go during that time.

Once the 7 month window opens, the BWV will book up quickly.

Best wishes -

Dean, you are right. We booked a package at PC last year after the Member Cruise. That's when if you purchased 3 nights and a 1 day base ticket, you received the dining plan free.

We did not use our tickets and instead on our next trip, upgraded them to the 10 day MYW tickets. Each 1 day ticket was worth full value!

Between having free dining and receiving full credit on the tickets, we basically stayed for free.

I think if you're not going into the parks, you may be limiting the variety of restaurants available to you under DDP. I love the resort restaurants. But, I'd like to have the option of going to epcot, etc. for a meal.

CapeCodFam I agree with you .

Since you wont be getting park tix make sure their are enough restaurants you enjoy that can use the dining plan for at resort restaurants. Their are some that require 2 meal s for signature dining.
