Question about tfering points

I have a complicated question I am hoping to get help with. I own 250 pts at BCV and 300 at SSR. We are going to BCV next Oct and will need 517 points. I want to do it all at the 11 month window so I can get the three rooms. Is it possible, if someone want to, to transfer SSR points to someone and get Their BCV points? What I would want to do is find someone who want to go to SSR during the owner only booking time and get their points for the BCV duringthe 11 month window.

I don't want to get flamed on this question, so if it is not possible just let me know. I am not trying to break any rules I am just trying to book a large family gathering.

go advertise on the trade/rental board - you want to trade your SSR for BCV.

you could also borrow your BCV points from next year - but you will still be 17 points short.

do you have any BCV banked?

I don't think you can do what you are suggesting. The latest rule is unlimited transfers either in or out of your account.

So if that is still the rule, you would either need to trade with someone with BCV points and each make the other person's reservation or split the reservbation between SSR and BCV and then at the 7 month mark call and switch your reservation to the BCV. That would be the simplest way to go about doing it.

We transferred BWV points from my BIL into our account, we only own at OKW. The points upon transfer were no longer considered BWV points, they were then designated as OKW points and followed the same booking options as our own OKW points. We did not receive the 11 mo booking window opportunity at BWV. I've heard you might be able to get around this if you insist and speak with a mgr, but I'm just alerting you that the points you trade for may not retain their location once they hit your account.

all transferred home resort vacation points retain the use year of the transfering member and expire at the end of the transfering member's use year,unless banked.
6.7
If a transfer occurs between club members from different home resorts,the transfered home resort vacation points retain all the reservation rights of the transfering member.
> the recipient of the transferred home resort vacation points may use them to make a reservation at the transferring member's home resort during the home resort priority period or at qualified dvc resorts after the home resort's priority period and any other applicable priority period.
>the recipient of the transferred home resort vacation points would not be able to use the transferred home resort vacation points at his or her home resort until the end of his or her home resort priority period and any other applicable prioity periods.

during a given use year a club member may ! per membership
either transfer or receive transferred vacation points but may not both transfer and receive transferred vacation points

only club members who have closed on their purchase agreement

Are you trying for THREE rooms? I thought it was a 2 bedroom and a studio you were looking for. I guess if it was me, I would borrow the BCV points from the next year and rent the 17 extras.

You should know that the rules and what DVC can do are two separate things in this situation. The reality is that they can't track home resort and use year of transferred points. You can force them to do it manually if you need to though. If it weren't for the SSR points not being available, you could simply transfer the SSR points to the BCV contract and make the entire reservation at BCV at the 11 month window. This flaw will be corrected at some point and someone will get burned trying to game the system but it is the reality at the current time.
