Question about Teppan Edo

This might seem like a silly question, but is it hot in there? I had booked a lunch ADR for Tokyo Dining but was thinking of changing to Teppan Edo thinking my son might enjoy that more. But I was wondering if sitting by the table, if it's hot from the grill. I'm sure it will be sweltering out when we're there, I'm not sure I'd want to go from outside in the heat into and then sit where we're still going to be hot.

It can get a little hot, but not too bad at least from what I remember last time I ate there. We always enjoy this place for the entertainment of the cooking and the food is good. I think you should stick with it.

There are a couple of times when they light oil on fire and there is a big flare on the grill. (This is part of the "show.") When they do it at your table, or the tables near you, you can definitely feel the heat.

But, overall, I think the restaurant is comfortable and the regular heat from the grill doesn't bother me. And I'm one of those people who hates being hot! My whole family enjoyed Teppan Edo. I think you should give it a try.

I don't recall this being all that uncomfortable when we went over Christmas 2008. Then again, it was winter time. Seriously though, we so enjoyed it, we're going back this August, regardless of how hot it is inside. The show is fun for the kids, and the food is good too.

We ate there last Sept and I never noticed any heat issues by sitting close to the grill.

We went in Sept. too, no heat issues here, but the overhead exhaust fans sound like jet engines!

We had to hurry along to catch our ADR (on a hot day), and then it did take 10 minutes to cool down. While it was not "hot", it wasn't conducive to cooling down either.

For us, once the interactive entertainment kicked in with the chef, we forgot a about being hot.

As for the grill, I suppose that being seated at either end would be better than in the center.

I'm at the age and the weight where I am ALWAYS hot....we eat there every trip summer, fall, winter and spring......never have had a problem ....

Our adr at Teppan is for 8:20. Will we be able to see Illuminations from the restaurant? I can't decide whether to keep this or change it, as we don't want to miss Illuminations!

Fried Rice is a Chinese dish, not a Japanese dish. I would not expect Fried Rice in an authentic Japanese environment
