Question about tax estimate

OK, I see my estimated tax was $155.82 for '05 (200 pts. at SSR). Actual tax was $220.92.

This year's estimate is $170.02.

Any reason why taxes would go down? I'd think they'd want to at least collect what we paid the year before!

Is it possible that the State maybe added some one time hurricane related things? Don't know if they did, just a thought.

Generally you are right, but my best guess is that in projects that are still under construction, as more units are released, the tax burden on the common areas are spread out to more units even tho I think DVD's pro-rated portion should keep it relatively unchanged. Also, there could be a projected reduction in the millage (tax rate) imposed by Orange County's taxing bodies, thus reducing the taxes.

All of our resorts estimated are less than the actual except for Vero
OKW 2005 actual was $310.16 2006 est. is 275.28
SSR 2005 actual was $265.10 2006 est. is 204.02
VB 2005 actual was $63.42 2006 est. is 64.21

I guess I will have another larger payment next January
