Question about Targe 75.00 BF purchase for 20% shopping pass

At Target at 2 AM this morning I almost did not get a coupon. I had to ask for it, the cashier then said I did not spend $75. I pointed out I had spent 75.49. She gave me one with a sour look and muttering! :confused3

Not that her attitude can be excused but was your total $75 before tax? If not that may be why she said it.

What dies the coupon say about redemption? Are there any restrictions?

Thanks.

The 20% off coupon excludes "gift cards, iTunes cards, Apple, Bose, all video games, PS4 and Xbox One consoles and Target mobile."

When I checked out at 12:30 after my sale the cashiers entire screen flashed to give customer 20% bounce back coupon, and she had to go to another register to get more. It maybe that your order had some excluded things or didn't add up before tax as to why it didn't notify the cashier. Good luck with your shopping!

Was your total after tax? Tax is not included in the $75 limit. I spent $75 and change after tax and did not get a coupon.

Spent $86, finished my Christmas shopping and picked up three extra Skylander Swapforces (buy two, get one free) that I hadn't planned on getting and got the 20% Coupon. Now I'm just holding my breath until Sunday to see if if works with Disney GC's. :goodvibes

I went into Target this morning and bought a Target gift card, put $75 on it and got the 20% coupon. I actually went to a couple of different registers and did this so I got 3 coupons. Once you complete payment the register flashes a message to the cashier to remember to give the customer a 20% coupon.

The 20% coupon says "excludes gift cards, iTunes cards....."

As we know, Target classifies the Disney, restaurant, Southwest gift cards as entertainment cards. The fact that they specify "iTunes cards" as an exclusion makes me feel good that the 20% coupon may actually work on Disney cards.

I'll find out on Sunday.

I just bought $75 worth of staples at Super Target to get a 20% off coupon. I'll be eagerly waiting until Sun AM to see if it works on Disney gift cards.

If it does, I'll be going to Kroger to buy $400 of Target gift cards (earning 4X fuel points plus $20 toward my children's swim team fund raising obligation) and then buy $500 of Disney gift cards at Target for a future DCL cruise. My net cost will be $344. Too bad I already maxed out my Amex blue grocery store rewards or my net cost would be $324.

Just to be clear because I don't have a Red Card.

Neither the $75 original purchase (Target gift card in my case) nor the purchase with the 20% off coupon have to be paid for with a Red Card.

Is there a limit to the max savings on the 20% off coupon order?

Thanks to anyone that can verify the above.

It's possible that the 20%-off coupon will be applied to your total AFTER Target GCs have been applied. I know that the pharma5 and REDCard5 apply (in-store) after GC payments have been deducted. If that's the case with this coupon, buying Target GCs at Kroger might be counterproductive.

I've never had this happen before with any other Target coupons as I almost always buy at Target with gift cards purchased at Kroger and I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. But I appreciate the heads up.

I called to make sure I was able to get the coupon, as it states limited quantity, but the lady checked with a TL, and she said every online order should get 1 tomm at 3 AM :)

I wish our Giant Eagle sold Target GCs so we could get the 20 cents off fuel when they run that deal. We don't have a Kroger close enough to make it worth it for the 4x fuel

I wish i had read this thread this morning. i decided to go to Target last minute, at 6am. I ended up spending $105, including the $50 iTunes card deal. My receipt says I qualified for the discount but no coupon was given to me. I didn't know you had to ask for it, if it wasn't given automatically. I may go back today and ask for my discount card.

Are they giving the coupons until close today?....or can they "run out" of them? It is a long drive and I was going to go to Target in a little while, but not if all the coupons are gone.......

Like I said, it may be different with this coupon, but I know for a fact that the pharma5 and REDCard5 discounts are taken off the total at the register AFTER Target GCs have been been applied. Dollar-off coupons are an entirely different thing all together and they will have their amount taken off prior to any payment method is used.

Does anyone know if the 20% off coupon can be stacked with the 5% Pharmacy Rewards? I just earned my first Pharmacy Rewards coupon and it came in the mail Friday! :)

Thanks!

Right. Last year when Target ran the $10 off $50 or $10 gift card with $50 purchase (cannot remember which it was) I had no issue using a Target gift card purchased at Kroger.

I believe you are confusing promotional Target gift cards (buy 2 packs of TP and get a $5 gift card) with standard gift cards.

How long did it take for you to receive it in the mail? I am waiting on one and hope I get it today or tomorrow!

I'm not seeing anything in that link that says that "%-off total purchase" coupons are applied prior to GC payments? :confused3

It does says this:
5% REDcard Discount Program Rules: Every time you use your REDcard you will receive 5% off your purchases at Target stores in the U.S. and Target.com If you use a REDcard in the same purchase transaction with another form of payment, the 5% discount will apply only to the purchase amount tendered to your REDcard. 5% discount applies to eligible purchases minus any other discounts and the value of any promotional Target gift cards received in the transaction. Target reserves the right to discontinue or alter the terms of this program at any time.

One of the reasons that I do not use any Target GCs to purchase Disney GCs (or any other entertainment card) in-store is because the %-off is reduced to only what was paid for after the GCs were applied. The opposite is true online. You get your REDCard5 off of the entire total prior to applying Target GCs online, but you cannot apply the pharma5 discount to purchase Disney GCs there.
