We booked our flights through Southwest. We are actually flying down on AirTran and back on Southwest.

Since we booked through Southwest, will we be charged luggage fee for the AirTran leg of the trip?

One thing to know ahead of time is that if you're staying on-site, you won't be able to do Resort Airline Checkin if you have a split AirTrain/SW itinerary, even if it was all booked on Southwest.com. So be prepared to return your luggage to the airport yourself.

We flew down on Air Tran and back on Southwest last September. Both legs were booked through Southwest. We were staying at AoA and were able to use RAC to return to the airport. Some of the other CMs seemed surprised but our CM had no trouble getting the system to accept our luggage.

We had that problem as well.

we always do air tran going down and southwest coming home

and never had an issue actually I never thought of not being able to do this
we stay at the CBR and just take our luggage to the customs house and off

our luggage goes

hope everything goes smooth for you
