Question About Suites / Villas

We are currently planning a trip for possibly 4 adults. Debating whether it would be better for a suite with 2 separate sleeping areas or just 2 separate rooms.

How are the pullout beds? Comfy or do you wake up with pain from the bar down the center? Looking for the best value as well.

First thing to note: A suite is not a villa, and a villa is not a suite. Save for the Family Suites at AOA and ASMu, I like to refer to suites as $uites. They are part of deluxe hotels (and CSR), wholly owned by Disney, and usually have Club Level access.

A villa is a DVC unit ranging from studio to 3 bedroom. Disney own 2-5% of them at most of the DVC Deluxe Villa resorts.

If you are looking for cheapest, two separate rooms at a Value resort, with a request for connecting, will be cheapest and afford the most privacy. A 2BR DVC villa or 2BR $uite will cost you, either via points rental for the villa, or cash for either a villa or $uite, and will cost substantially more than 2 rooms at POP.

A Family Suite may come in the same range as two rooms, but have less privacy. Someone will be on a pull-down bed, and you'll need to really love you some Nemo or similar.

I agree with _auroraborealis_. The most economical thing to do would be to book two rooms at a Value. You can request connecting rooms, but it won't be guaranteed. If you absolutely need to be in the same room/suite, your second most economical option would be to book a family suite at ASMu, third would be the family suite at AoA. With the family suites, you will get one queen bed and a variety of pull-out options. I've slept on a pullout at AoA and pull-outs in the DVC studios and they are not comfortable IMHO.

If you want to be in a Deluxe, the best bet for you would be 2 studios at a DVC resort. If your not concerned about being in a deluxe, as one of the PP noted a value resort would be your better choice.

If you want a full kitchen and laundry in your room, then I say go for a 1bd room villa. You can rent points or pay through WDW. We love the 1bd room villa at the Boardwalk. I found the pull out couch to be very comfy, it is a queen size.

If two bathrooms are important, then you can get two rooms and request adjoining rooms.

4 adults are not going to get connecting rooms - those are kept for parents with kids. or one adult going with 4 or more kids. It is a safety issue. Now you can get 2 rooms next to each other adjoining or maybe just in the same building - depends upon how booked they are.

with a 2-bedroom DEDICATED villa - you get 1 king bed, one queen sleeper sofa, one chair sleeper, and 2 queens bed - with a lock off change the 2 queen beds to queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.
the one exception is BCV - they only have 25 true dedicated villas - the others (although not lock off) have the same furniture. (builder had problems)
Pbv, and BWV did not have 2 bedrooms dedicated. BWV does have lock offs. PBV only has studios.

you also get a master bathroom w/whirlpool tub, and separate shower, full queen, living area, generally laundry room (sometimes it is only a closet).

I don't know that's a hard and fast rule. My parents and I have had connecting rooms (all of us adults). I've also been in a room with a connecting door, but I was not traveling with the people in the room next door. I think it all just depends on availability at the time they're assigning rooms.

It is absolutely not a hard and fast rule. Connecting is always a request no matter who makes it, and there are many connecting rooms at Pop. Odds of getting them involve check in date vs. check out dates of others in the rooms that connect. It isn't an age thing, and families frequently are NOT given the connecting request.

Thanks for all the tips! We are still playing with numbers and just seeing what our options are this time around.

This is not accurate. Connecting rooms are by request only, with really no consideration as to the ages of the guests.
Multiple adults (indicated as parents in the quoted post, but travel parties are comprised of a variety of relationships among the party members) traveling with multiple minors can absolutely be assigned to non-connecting rooms.
Solo adult traveling with 4+ minors is a difficult situation, but sometimes connecting rooms simply aren't available - especially given that it is not a bookable category.
Adult parties may well need connecting rooms for medical reasons.

It is the responsibility of the guest/customer to reserve the proper occupancy room.

so one adult traveling with 4 or more children is no longer guarantee a connecting room - that is asking for trouble. thanks for all the replies did not know the rule had changed.

Not all two bedroom villas will have the sleeper chair in the living room. Only OKW, BLT and AKV.
