You can use the gift card but cannot redeem rewards or coupons. I like to hit the Starbucks in Orlando International and redeem any free drinks I have before heading to Disney on the ME. It was a tradition before they added good coffee, so I like to keep it going.

Don't forget if you're on the dining plan, you can use a snack credit on drinks at Starbucks inside the parks.

OP, sorry to jump in this thread. Was just curious...Would they accept the app even if it's in CAD? Anyone know what sort of exchange rate they would use?

My understanding is they use the current exchange rate when you charge to your canadian card... but I didn't try it this trip.

You can definitely redeem them at Disney Springs I did so in August. If anyone is going to Universal you CANNOT redeem rewards at the location in CityWalk FYI.

I didn't try to redeem rewards but did accumulate stars while I was there. I earned another reward to use at home.

As previously stated you can redeem rewards at the 2 Disney Springs locations. Those 2 locations also count for those bonus star promos Starbucks often run such as buy 2 fraps between certain dates and get 5 bonus stars. The park locations purchases do not count for the bonus star promotions - you only get the regular one star for a purchase at a park location.

Unless it's changed since January, the in-park fits/stars earned DO count towards the "go X number of times within X number of days" (or X days in a row) challenges. That's what kept my streak alive!

When we were there in Dec., we lost out on the make a purchase 12 days in a row because they didn't count our two days when we purchased in park so we only got 9 stars instead of the 12.
We also weren't able to use in the park locations our buy one, get one free offer that was the Monday offer for rewards members. We could use it in Disney Spring locations.
We do like the West Side Disney Springs location, they have beer and wine as well as flatbreads, truffle mac and cheese, and small bites and a great sit down area.

Interesting. Maybe they changed it. But last year there was a challenge going on over Marathon Weekend and I definitely got a star at EPCOT.
