We are going for 5 nights and have the DDP for 2 adults and 2 kids.

We are basically doing character meals, as that's what my kids love.

Current plan is:

Askerhus (breakfast)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
H & V Fantasmic Package with Star Wars Disney Characters (2 DDP cd its).

I'm still undecided whether the H & V package is worth it for us. I don't really care about Fantasmic package. I think it would be cool to see Jedi Mickey - but can't decide if it's really worth 2 credits.

Based on the reviews, I was thinking of adding Via Napoli - but then I am one DDP credit short.

If we kept the H & V package - would we be allowed to pay partially with DDP and partially OOP?

Should we skip the Jedi Mickey Package and just do regular H & V for the Disney Junior characters? (Who will also be important to my kids? Thinking of hitting the DHS EMH just for that - even thought it's after our MK day).

You can pay for some meals with DDP credits and pay for others with cash. You can't use one credit per person and some cash per person.

Only yoy can decide if you should attend or skip one character meal or another. You know your famiky.

Speaking strictly financially, the two credit meals are often not "worth it" (I haven't checked the price of the Star Wars H&V specifically - roughly it would have to cost over $80 per adult and $30 per child to add up) however, I do book some 2 credit places when the meal + characters + atmosphere + uniqueness is "worth it" to my family.

Since the money reason isn't there, if you're not planning to use the Fantasmic vouchers and if your kids would be equally or more excited about Disney Jr. characters, then I'd skip the Star Wars meal if I were you.

Via Napoli can be a reasonably priced place and is a good choice for paying OOP. In your case, you could switch down to H&V one credit, and add Via Napoli and still pay no OOP. While *I* would go to the Star Wars meal, (my family are huge fans) it sounds like a switch might be a good fit for you.

Say you had 4 adult guests. and you had 4 TS credits in your account. You could pay for 2 of those adults at the Star Wars meal with those 4 credits and pay cash for the other two. Where the issue comes in is if you have an odd number. If you have 3 adults, then you can only pay for one of them with credits. If you have 2 adults and 1 child, you can pay for one of the adults with the credits but you will still have the child's credit left over. You cannot pay for a 2 credit meal with 1 credit plus cash.

I'd keep it the way it is and then pay cash for Via Napoli. If you pay cash you can do things like split a larger pizza, which you can't do on the DDP.

Thanks for the advice!

Mikie - you bring up a good point about the Star Wars dinner. I think we will probably keep it b/c it is so unique - and my son does like Star Wars. I'm going to have to get him more into SW again in the next few months ;) - and just split a pizza at Via Napoli.

But - also good to know we can pay for the adults with the DDP and OOP for the kids - but sounds like it would not help too much anyway b/c we would not be able to split meals that way at Via Napoli.

Probably the bigger question I keep coming back to is whether the Jedi Mickey dinner is worth 2 DDP. Leaning towards yes b/c of the uniqueness - but I guess we'll have to see once I tell the kids how into Star Wars / Jedi Mickey they are.

Thanks!

I think you could pay OOP for the adults at Via Napoli and use credits for the kids, but would that still leave you with kid's credits if you pay OOP for them at H&V?
