I posted a thread before about getting a card and it seems that a lot of people have this card. I've got some purchases on it, enough to have the points to get two round trip flights. All purchases have been showing as "pending" for a couple days now. When do they count towards reward points? My balance still says 0. I want to pay all these before the interest kicks in, but still want my points, so don't want to screw this up.

You wouldn't be responsible for any interest until after your due date. You could wait until your bill comes and then pay it or wait for your purchases to show on the account and pay it online. Your points will be available after you pay your bill.

I think there's something weird about the Chase system recently. Things are staying as pending for way long than they ever used to before. I have some items that have been shipped to me and I've received them and they're STILL listed as pending.

That said, you'll get a statement and usually have about a month before your payment is actually due. Typically the "first" month is often closer to 2. But as long as you pay before your DUE date, you won't pay interest on anything.

I have my account set up to automatically deduct the money from my bank account on the due date (if it's a weekend/holiday) it'll be the day before. That way I never have to worry. Of course, you can always make payments as often as you'd like, too.

I just got my card about 2 weeks ago. All my purchases are correct and not 'pending' online but my rewards aren't showing up and I don't expect them to until my 1st bill is processed. That's the same way the Disney points accrue on the Chase Disney Visa.

Your rewards are not credited until after your monthly statement is generated. That isn't your "payment due" date . The next statement is not generated until 3-5 business days following your "payment due" date. I know that my annual fee for my SWA Visa hit my account long before the annual bonus points hit my RR account .

It has been taking 2-3 days for my purchases to move from "pending".

You will receive the points from your current billing cycle 1-2 days after your closing date.

another question: how long does it typically take to receive points once the card is paid, and do you have to pay the entire balance, or do you get the points you pay off?

You get the points not for what you pay, but what you have spent on the card whether the balance is paid or not. Your points will not show as soon as you pay, it's when your statement is generated then it takes about 2 days to show in your rapid rewards account.
