I was looking at the requirements for the EPCOT swap and I am seeing that many things are to be "embellished."

I am a self-taught scrapper and have no idea what that means. LOL :D

Also when you say "tags," what are they?

Thanks!

Well, I'm a self-taught scrapper, too!! I'll try to help you the best that I can.......

I believe that embellishments are using wire, eyelets, ribbon, etc. Tags are just that - tags that sometimes are blank for journaling, some have stickers or fancy artwork on them.

If you go to www.twopeasinabucket.com or www.scrapbook.com and click on the layouts section, you will see lots of examples of these techniques.

(Pro scrappers, did I give the right answer??)

I am a newbie to scrapbooking, and I have wondered that myself. I have found several websites that say just about anything can serve as an embellishment- punchies, die cuts, stickers, torn paper, drawings, etc. If I understand the term correctly, it is simply something added as a decoration to enhance an element/page.

In the beginning, I totally thought I would avoid swaps at all costs, because I'm worried that my work will not be good enough or that I would disappoint someone in some way, but I am beginning to feel that I am really losing out by not joining in on the swaps. I think I may jump into the next one, providing I feel I can meet the artistic challenge. So be prepared...lol.

I agree that an embellishment is simply "adding something". Another option to add to the ones already mentioned is chalk. Good question!

take alook at the thread showing the items received in the MK swap. there are some tags on there, and it will also give you an idea of the kinds of things people contribute.

I have been in a few swaps, and have had many things back from simple to extremely expert. I think as long as you put effort in, and do your best work, noone will be unhappy to receive your items.
