Question about Sky Auction for December

I am looking for a one week auction later in December....after the 15th. I have been looking and don't find anything for after the 15th and there really isn't much for Dec at all. I want a 2 br Villa. When would I start to see auctions that include more Dec dates? I am very new to sky auction but think it could really work out for us.

Also, is there any other fee besides the $295?(for a Villa unit) I thought I read something about an additional $15 fee but can't find anything currently regarding that.

Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to give me!

Skyauction gets surplus weeks. If you're talking about Orlando, Christmas and New Years are two of the busiest weeks of the year. Unless it was VERY last minute, I'd be pretty surprised to see it show up on Skyauction. If it did, you'd get a lot of competition and the bid would go higher than a more off-season time. If you're determined to go for the holidays, I'd suggest you book something refundable while you can still find anything at all. If you get lucky at the last minute, it will be a bonus.

Thanks for the info. We would like to go the week before Christmas, do you know if that week is still as competitive? I have found decent airfare????I just want to make sure I have options before I start seriously booking everything.

Thanks again!

there are some on condodirect
http://www.condodirect.com/web/cs?a=1014&r=0.3330879159181835&saveSearch=true

that say do you know anyone who owns a timeshares and trades with either II or RCI.

you can get
CYpress Pointe 3-bedroom on condodirect $779, but if you know someone who uses II then it is $529

Parkway $679 - $429
Sheraton Vistana $679- $429

Marriott which you can't even see on condodirect on II it is $569

all 2-bedroom except CP which is a 3-bedroom.

RCI has even more
but they don't put them on sale until 90 to 60 days before hand.

that say right now you could get Orbit One for $315 a 2bedroom. boy you can get Vacation Villa at Parkway for $324 for a 2-bedroom.

they are obviously having a sale!!!

Anyone have any idea when something for January would come up?:confused3

To PhotoBearSam:

I have found that condos for January post very late. I have waited as late as early January to find availability for mid-month.

Early January is usually a very slow month for travel, so I don't understand why they release availability at the last minute. My guess is that RCI & Getawayweeks must have to renew contracts or do some negotiating at year end, but who knows what is really going on.

Keep checking just in case something changes.

the good ole days are not like the good ole days anymore

RCI seems to be marketing via other venues, taking the crean and leaving the rest for skyauction

Vacation Village rarely shows up on skyauction anymore

it was nice while it lasted

Ain't that the truth!! July '06 I won the Vistana for March '07 now there is NOTHING out there for 2008 unless it's a home and away auction but those aren't even for my dates.:confused3

here are the others - that someone (on tug) say were rci besides skyauction

http://www.doorlando.com/

now these are others not sure about

http://www.extraholidays.com/eh/destinations/Orlando/index.go?regionID=27 (this one use to have a relationship with RCI - but not sure now)

http://www.tntresorts.com/Orlando/

here is a map - where you can get an ideal where the timeshares are located - but always check on the timeshare website itself.

RCI gives travel agents inventory to market. Most units inside 30 days prior to travel are very cheap, $279 for 1 br and $319 for 2 or 3 bedroom units.

do they have to add taxes also ....

the last calls and the extra vacations now have tax added to them....IF the maintenance fee and taxes is already paid on these units, it is like a double taxation ( it just took RCI's computer system a while to catch up )

wonder how long before they start to tax the skyauction inventory >>

Nope these prices are total for the week thru the t/a portal.

Samantha, the link Pat posted for Holiday Network has Cypress Point Grand Villas, Grand Beach, and Kingstown Reef (and several others, but these looked the nicest!) coming up for your dates. Price seems to be about $650 for a 1 bedroom. Not as cheap as skyauction but still very reasonable.

The 2 and 3 bdrms for those locations for the dates I am considering (if I can talk hubby into it, but it's not looking good  :sad1: ) are only $100 -$150 more than the new skyauction rates so I can live with that.
