Well I did some changing around and I'm now scheduled to dine at Rose & Crown for my Candlelight Processional package. I will be attending the show at 6:15 and then eating at 8. How do I go about requesting an outside table for 1 person. I really want to eat and then wait it out to catch Illuminations. Any suggestions or tips? Also ideas on a good meal to get there?

We watched Illuminations from there last October - it was a fantastic night! I had the prime rib (very yummy!) and DH liked the fish and chips. I think you'll need to check with the hostess and ask for an outside spot - you may have to wait a while, but it's worth it. Id suggest stopping by there on your way to the CP and asking about the procedure, that way you'll know exactly what to do and the CM may recognize you when you come back! Good luck and have a great trip!

I like the pie sampler (savory not sweet). Not sure about a single outside at R&C. We have been seated outdoors everytime we asked for it. Good luck!

What day are you doing CP? If it's Monday the 15th, we will be out there on the patio, if weather permits. You could always say you were saw an old friend out on the patio and come sit with us. :D Mickey

We ate an early dinner, so I can't help with Illuminations tips. The pie sampler, however is awesome!! We really enjoyed our meal here and we're looking forward to returning!

Dang wish I had known that earlier Mickey :( I'm scheduled for CP on the 16th. I guess I could always go back and fix it where my Fantasmic is on the 16th and CP on the 15th, but that could be to many changes lol

I read a post on another site that said that you can not hear the music for Illuminations if you sit outside at the Rose and Crown. Is this true? I hope not, we really want to see the show from there. What time would you recommend making a PS if you want to sit outside? And if you have to wait a while to be seated, can you walk around England (like with a pager) or do you need to stay right there at the restaurant? Thanks!

You can certainly hear the music from R&C. It's really a wonderful spot.

We have been lucky with 7:30 PSs on nonCp nights so I think 8:00 might be perfect on a CP evening. We usually get there a few minutes early and ask very politely if we can dine outside. For some reason we see lots of pushy people at that podium...barging in front of others and some not being pleasant about asking for outside. You can walk around England with your pager. We've always done this. However last Christmas it was very cold and we requested inside after the CP. We walked around England for quite awhile and finally approached the desk again only to find that the pager wasn't working and they had given our indoor table away! So we ate outside.:D

Have fun!

Thank you BCV23 for responding. I am glad to hear that it really is a wonderful spot. Maybe that poster was sitting with a loud group that night and couldn't hear the music well.

I'm also glad to know that we can walk around while waiting. It will actually be our first time in Epcot (spending the day at MK first), so it will be fun to explore a little. After Illuminations, does everything in Epcot close pretty quickly or can we walk around a bit more? We will be back for a full day or more later in our trip, so that's okay if all we get to do that night is have a great dinner and watch a fantastic show. By the way, if we can't get an outside seat, can we quickly eat dinner and still find a spot outside to watch by the lagoon? I am just trying to think of a back-up plan if we can't sit on the patio. Thank you!

You can go out after dinner and see the show if you don't get a patio table. How hard it will be to get a good spot depends on how crowded Epcot is that evening.

We have always left Epcot pretty quickly after Illuminations to try to beat the crowd. Others have posted about enjoying strolling around after as the park clears. Sounds like a nice strategy if you're not too tired...we usually are! I believe all the attractions shut down by 9:00 (most of FW by 7:00 usually) or 9:30 on CP nights. A couple stores may stay open for a bit. I think MouseGears does.

DisneyCP2002, my husband and I alwys enjoy the fruit and cheese plate as an appetizer and fish & chips as entrees except we ask for mashed potatoes instead of the fries. Two of our children usually order the prime rib...actually our daughter always does!
