We just booked our 1st stay at the BWI for this coming October and booked a standard view. Is there a certain area to request that would give us a chance of having a good view, or that is in a good location? Would anyone say they think the water view is worth the price difference? Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Standard views are views of the gardens (facing Epcot) depending of what wing you are on. If you want a nice view ask for room ending in even numbers ex 4268, 4264 or 5270. We stay Club level so all the rooms are either standard and that could mean you get water view or garden view. Only the deluxe's rooms are water views.

I have also stayed in the regular standard rooms outside of club level and found the view on the 4th floor near club level are a good view. Water view rooms are odd numbers. I myself would opt for a standard room unless you can get a water view on 4th or 5th floor closer to the boat dock. Ex near club level entrance. Good luck.

This is my view only, I have stayed at the BWI now since 2006 and staying two to three times a year. :)

Room 5298 (and 5296, at least). It's a garden view room, you look out directly onto a courtyard, but you can also see the Eiffel Tower replica in Epcot and have a good view of Illuminations at night from your balcony. You can also see Wishes between a couple of the buildings.

We've stayed and had a Boardwalk view room, but found that the noise was a little annoying, and having found the rooms above I don't think I'd pay for an upgrade to a special view.

Standard view also includes the front driveway, I would try to avoid that. I had a room there for one night before moving over to the Villas and people were walking back and forth to the bus stop and talking until very late.

This is good info, we are travelling with my brother and his family and hope to have rooms next to eachother- hopefully we can request these 2! Thanks everyone for the info!

I've also heard that it's better to be in the main building so your walk down isn't so far. Anyone know if ANY of those rooms have a view? I would prefer to be closer to the exit then have a view, so I wasn't going to worry.

Maybe section is more of the right word. I was told that there is only one exit to the boardwalk and it was in the main section, so to ask for the room there.

There are only 1 set of elevators (near the lobby) but there would have to be staircases throughout the building to use as fire escapes.

Requesting specific rooms is not recommended. First of all they would both need to be vacant the day you check in. Disney occupancy runs over 90% much of the year. It is very unlikely that those 2 exact rooms are available the exact day you check in.
Secondly, the room assigner has not idea why you requested those rooms, so that they can try to find a suitable alternative for you.
It would be much better to request ajoining rooms and a general request like higher floor or near the elevator etc.
