Question about room availability

I'm sure this is possible, but has anyone ever requested a reservation at their home resort prior to the 7 month window and not been able to get one regardless of room type.

Yes! Generally we make our plans at the 11 month window, and we can go anytime of the year we wish. The closer to 7 months we get, the harder it seems to be, and we have had to waitlist. Our waitlists have always come through, but it is a bit of a hassle.

We have noticed it is easier to book a 2BR than studios, and it is easier to get weekends than weekdays. People who always want weekday studio must pull their hair out trying to book certain times of the year unless they take full advantage of the 11 month window.

Plan ahead! If you book at 11 months you can get pretty much anything at your home resort.

Home resorts will have "something" available between the 11 and 7 month booking windows, but might not have all room types available. For example, BWV only has 7 (or is it 9?) GVs, so those probably go VERY quickly in the booking period. The other thing that might become difficult at some resorts is the studio, since studios are usually locked off from larger units. JMHO, but I think those would be the "difficult" ressies that might not be available.
