I am travelling to Disneyland/CA with my 2 children 5 and 7. I have two questions for anyone who has any experience with this or hints.

#1. For 2 seat rides, can my children ride together and I ride solo?

#2 My older one can go on rides my yournger one cannot go on. Any hints on how to handle this?

Thanks for your help.

I believe the kids need to be 7 in order to ride by themselves.....

My kids have spent the last 3 days riding rides together (a first, they normally argue over me and grandma as their ride partner).

My kids are 5 and 10, though, seriously, my 10 y/o could pass for a 7/8 year old because he is so small.

We haven't had 1 single person question it. My mom had the kids here by herself Sunday and she said she rode by herself all day....including rides like Haunted Mansion where being in a separate car, you can't really keep a complete eye on them.

I have been on the HM Doombuggys with me and 3 little kids, 8,7,5 and I'm not thin but we all fit. I did raise my arm over there heads to make alittle more room. We all enjoyed the ride.

I'm not sure if you can do a child swap with out 2 adults, but I would call DL and ask.

you may need to plan to skip some rides, since even your oldest is very young to be standing in line by him/herself.

or maybe, you can stand in line with both your children, and then explain to the CM at the loading area that your oldest child is going to ride alone but you needed to be able to supervise them while in line? perhaps they will all (you usually pass 2 or 3 cm's during lines with height requirements) allow you to move through the line together, and then let you and your youngest stand off to the side at the loading area while your oldest rides. i don't know though, there may be safety issues involved that could prevent them from allowing this. like the previous poster said, you would probably benefit from calling disneyland and asking for help.

oh, and for 2 ride seats....i can't think of any that won't allow you to sit in the row behind your children. the 2 ride seats that i can think of are: big thunder mountain railroad, space mountain, california screamin', and possibly mulholland madness (i hate that ride so it's been years since i've ridden it). your 5 year old likely won't be tall enough for california screamin'. fortunately, most rides at disneyland have seating that will accommodate a parent with two young kids on one seat. oh yeah, also buzz lightyear and toy story mania sit 2 people side by side, but you could easily ride in the buggy behind them on buzz, and in the same buggy but just on the opposite side on toy story.

hope you get it all worked out!

Some rides you can squeeze all three of you in a seat together - Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder.

Rides your 7 year old can ride but your 5 year old can't...I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to skip those. I don't know Disneyland's official rules, but I think 7 is way too young to be standing in line alone.

I was there with my girls last November solo. They were 7 and 11 at the time and we had no problems at all. We either rode together or I rode behind them. When they went on Screamin' and I didn't I just waited outside the ride and they went thru the line together. Granted the oldest was 11 but in reality she is tiny and looks about 10, but they had no problems. With your 7 y.o. and rides that the younger one can't do ask the CM at the front of the line how it works. Maybe the 7 y.o. can use the single rider line and you can simply wait outside the ride.
