Question About Ressie

We have a room-only ressie at WL for Christmas. We also have a AAA discount on this room. Is it possible to simply add the DDP to this ressie or does it automatically become a package? We would also want five day MYW base tickets. I guess it's now a package, but I want to use Dreams Unlimited and I don't believe they can get the AAA rate on the package...

I guess I can email my agent, but just wanted to see what I could find out here, first.

In order to get the DDP you need a Magic Your Way package which includes lodging at Rack Rate and at least a one day base ticket for each person on the dining plan. Everyone in the room must be on the same package. So I do not think you can add the package to a room with a AAA discount.
I am sure others will correct me if I am wrong.

I'm brand new to posting here, but have been reading for a long long time, lol.....I'm pretty positive I've read on other threads that the MYW and DDP only require rack rate be paid when it's FREE DDP. In other words, that's how Disney makes their money, by you paying the highest rate for a hotel room and then they "give" you DDP free. Most times it still comes out as a deal of course, but it's not exactly free-free.

BUT...if you're PAYING for DDP (which OP would be at Christmas) then you simply have to stay onsite and buy a ticket (1 day base would be fine) making it a MYW package and then you pay $38.99 per person, per night booked for the DDP (kids are cheaper, I think $20?). But you can still get whatever discounts are available on the hotel room cost.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, because this is what MY budget is based on, and it's gonna seriously impact my stay if I can't have my AAA discount and DDP!

Because your paying for DDP you can still get room discount, but you must go through AAA to get it. I have read where some AAA office didn't give them the discount but you should get it, I did.

The info here is correct:

- If you're travelling during the free DDP time period and you want the free offer, no other discounts apply.

- If you're doing a package with AAA Discount and paying for the DDP, then you must book with a AAA travel agent.

Hope that clears things up.
