Question about Resort Suggestion

I own several timeshare weeks with Marriott. We trade through Interval international and I noticed most of the Disney Vacation Club property are listed to trade into on a frequent basis.

So to this end does anyone have any suggestions for where we should try to book at Disney. We prefer the top end sites when traveling and on vacation. However with the Vacation Club I haven't exactly figured out which ones are top end.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you have stayed at the resorts.

Currently we are looking at traveling either May 2007 or Oct. 2007.

Thanks

October is pretty busy with DVC. You might not get anything at that time. Your best chances for a DVC resort would probably be OKW or SSR.

All the DVC resorts are considered top end. I would ask for the dates you want and accept whatever they can get you. DVC isn't very easy to trade into - May could be difficult, October close to impossible.

The biggest difference between the resorts appears to be the style. Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge are hotel-type: one (or two) buildings, lobbies with elevators, interior corridors, farther parking. Old Key West and Saratoga Springs are are condo-type: multiple buildings farther apart, each building has a elevator with semi-exterior corridors, park in front of your building. The interiors have the same layout except for OKW, which has larger floor plans.

Good luck!

All the DVC resorts have different personalities. You may want to go to the public DVC website and look at the resorts there. Also Deb Wills' site has pictures from the resorts and descriptions. Scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page to Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

Both of these sites will give you a feel for the different resorts. Then you may have a better idea of where you'd like to stay.

That information is great. The sites are wonderful, have already visited them. I will let you know how it turns out.

Also the hotel style DVCs offer valet parking and room service dining. The condo style do not, but offer a much more relaxed ambiance. It really depends on your personal preferences.
