Hi Everyone! This is one of my first posts- and I know it's one that has been asked numerous times, but I just want to clarify. We are leaving this coming Thursday (18th) for a few nights at the GF before we go on a cruise out of port canaveral. We've stayed at the GF twice before and were always able to request the (possible) location of our room thru fax or by phoning the GF directly. How does everyone go about doing this now? We have two garden-view rooms reserved, and would like to request a marina view. We put that request in with CRO already, however just want to make sure that there is no more calling/ faxing. Thanks in advance, everyone! We're so excited!

If your request is noted on your reservation the info will be downloaded to the Grand Floridian. Therefore we don't do anything else.

I'm a little confused. You have a Garden View reservation, and yet you have a water view request. Water view is the next level of charge. Were you wanting to step up to water view or were hoping to get comp'd up to the marina view?

My CRO noted it on my reservation, but I also faxed the request just to feel secure that they got it. And when I checked in I made mention of it to. Don't be shy...doesn't hurt to ask. All they can tell you is that those particular rooms are not available. We do it this way every year, and they always accommodate us with the room we asked for, or one that is similar.

This year, we asked for a view of CC. We got room 7130. It was perfect. We could see CC, CR & Narcossee's. :cool1:

edingerc: Actually, garden view rooms at the grand floridian include views of the pool, garden, OR marina (where the boats are parked). We have had this view before when we reserved a garden view room- and I believe if you do some hunting on these boards you will find many discussions about the "best" garden view rooms at the GF being the ones in Sago or Conch that face the marina. Lagoon view rooms include views of the lagoon (i.e. poly, contemp, mk). Sorry you misunderstood! I think my question is answered. Thanks!

disregard that countdown in my siggy- it's waaaaay behind- 6 days until the GF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ElleBelle, don't be afraid to ask the CM checking you in too. We've made requests through CRO before that were goofed up (asked for Conch through CRO, CM made a point of saying "I see you asked for Boca Chica" - uh, no). As you know, ask for a room in Conch or Sago Cay at check-in (I think the Conch marina rooms are the best garden views available).

It might also help to know which room numbers face which way. I think the marina Conch numbers are even, though I would have to check at home for sure.

Thank-you Gf Girl and Snurk! We definitely will mention something at check-in. :flower:
