Question about resort guest parking

Hi there -

We're staying at the GF in November and we won't have a car but I know that parking is included at the resort for guests staying at the resort. My parents will be staying at a hotel off-site - if they want to drive to the GF daily and meet us there, can I designate their car for our included parking?

Parking lots are accessed by MB the majority of times anymore, the paper parking slips are rare. Your best bet is to add one of them to your room so they can get a MB/room key to access the lot (this comes with an added cost, however) otherwise they will need to stop at the guard every single time, who will "probably" allow them to park based on visiting a guest at the resort, but possibly not.

There's no charge for self-parking at any Disney resort, whether you're a guest or not. If they're just stopping by to visit you for an hour or so, or have a meal at one of GF's restaurants, they can use the self-parking lot. (Note that this may not work out during busy holiday periods - the monorail resorts get a lot stricter about non-guests parking there.)

If, however, they're planning on leaving the car in the GF lot all day while you all go to a theme park together....that's exactly what the resorts DON'T want happening. There's just not enough room in the resort lots for friends and family of guests to use them for theme park parking. In that case, they would need to use valet parking at GF ($25/day plus tips), or pay to park in the theme park lot ($20/day).

As mentioned above, a way around this would be to add one of them to your reservation, so they get a magic band that identifies them as a guest of the GF. If you already have two adults on the reservation, there's a $25 charge per additional adult.
