I just booked a room-only with AAA and the agent there told me I needed a package to book Magical Express. (Would have booked directly with CRO, but their computers were down and needed a quick answer cause of a Ding! fare).

I didn't worry about it at the time, cause I had to get off the phone and back to the computer to get this Ding! fare before it disappeared.

I should get my confirmation from AAA by tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Now my question is, will I be able to call Disney and get my Magical Express, or will I need to convince this AAA rep that I don't need a package to book ME.

Thanks,

Carol

Since technically AAA "owns" your WDW reservation, whether or not you can reserve DME yourself depends on the CM who takes your phone call.

Maybe try convincing your AAA rep by e-mailing him/her the following link to the OFFICIAL WDW website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortOther?id=ResortBenefitsPage
It states there what you and I already know, that DME is a benefit of being a guest at a WDW resort and has nothing to do with purchasing a "package."

You can also play hardball and try a bluff -- tell the rep if he/she doesn't have an open mind and check it out for you that you'll cancel your reservation with him/her and take your business elsewhere. You don't have to follow through, but you can try the bluff.

Thanks for the info.

I figured as much. Like I said, I didn't have time on the phone to convince this person, I had to get that Ding! fare

$82 RT from Birmingham to Orlando on a Friday noon and Sunday afternoon, how great is that!!!! Food & Wine Festival here I come!!! I'll have all of Friday evening and all day Saturday to roam all of the booths without any grumpy folks tagging along saying there is nothing to eat!!!

(Last year I had only three hours on our departure day the first day of F&W, and the men in our group did nothing but complain that there was nothing to eat and insisted on stopping at the American place for burgers)

I'll wait till my confirmation sheet shows up in the mail, then I'll call them back when I have more time and get my requests and Magical Express taken care of.

Have you tried reserving Magical Express online? Just go to www.disneysmagicalexpress.com and it will take you step by step...it does ask for your room reservation #. I just did it last night for a DVC reservation and for multiple people, multiple airlines and it confirmed that the request had been submitted. Couldn't hurt to try that, assuming you have some kind of reservation #.

NOTE THAT THE CORRECT MAGICAL EXPRESS link is www.disneysmagicalexpress.com SORRY
