Question about Renting/Xfering Banked Points

Hi....We have 4 points, from a resale contract, that were banked into the Apr 2003 Use Year. We won't be able to use them. I figured I could transfer them to someone, but I saw a msg on the Rent/Trade board that made it sound like banked points couldn't be transferred. If I can't transfer them, is there any way to rent them? I assume 4 points wouldn't be enough for a ressie anywhere, so I assume I can't make a ressie for someone and rent it. Is there anything that can be done with these points?

Banked points cannot be transfered. If you rent them, you have to use some of your other points to combine them to come up with an entire night. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the info....I was starting to guess that's what would happen, but thought I should check. So, is there anything else that can be done with these points.....e.g., could I donate them or something? Seems like it'd be nice if Disney had a way where points could be donated to Make a Wish foundation or another charity. Obviously, the dollar value isn't much, but it'd be nice if there was a way to pool small amounts of points for a charitable purpose instead of having them go to waste! Guess even doing something like that would require a transfer though. Any ideas?

I don't know the answer. But I highly doubt it just because how the reservation is made. Last year, I lost a few points too when I bought a resale.

I believe that if you rent these 4 points out to another DVC member (who is maybe short a few points) that member can transfer their points into your account and you could then make the reservation (provided their points weren't banked either). It may seem like a long shot, but I believe this can be done.

yes, that can be done. but I doubt many people would go for that alternative for small pts like this and the fact that the other party will know your member #.
