Question about renting transfurred points

I have been surfing the boards and from what I can tell if a member is short a few points for a reservation they can get a couple transfurred from someone who has extra? The one answer I couldn.t find is do you need to have the points in your account before you make the reservation or can you make that first and then post for the points after? Thanks in advance for answering my question!!!

You must have the points available in your account at the time the reservation is made. The points can be banked, current or borrowed and need to be available for the date of the reservation. If you are making a reservation for 11 months in advance, the points don't need to be current today, but must be accessible from your account (thru banking and/or borrowing) when the reservation starts.

If more points are needed than will be available from your account as it stands now (including banking and borrowing), then the transferred points will need to be already in your account when you call to make the reservation- MS won't allow any "credit" when making a reservation.
