Question about renting DVC points

Hey all! My wife and I are planning a Disney World trip for next year and it's to my understanding that we can book the resort stay 11 months in advance. Since we're looking to rent points, will I be able to see DIS members post their available points in the rental subforum around that time (11-month mark)?

Members will post points for rent in the Rent/Trade DVC subforum (can only see it if you are signed in to DisBoards). They could post them anytime so if you have certian dates picked out and know the resort you want, you can keep watching for listings. If you wait til the 7 month mark, your options as far as available rooms will be less but points from any resort will do, making it easier to resnt (any listing with enough points will work).

Another option is a DVC point rental service such as the one that advertises on this site. They may be a bit more expensive but you often can get you reservation secured earlier and with less hassle as you don't have to keep checking for available points. If they don't have enough at the time of your request, they will put you in a queue and fill your request as the points are available.

Yeah, our plan as it stands now is to go through a well-known service. But it'd be nice to help a fellow DISer out.

Hello,

I have rented out points in the past via disboards. Mind you, there is a great amount of trust between the owner and renter. I requested the money 1/2 up front and then 1/2 when I send them the confirmation via Paypal.

Recently I have rented my points out through David's Vacation Club Rental. They give you 11.00 per point. Actually I think this is the better way to go...at least for me. You get 1/2 the money when you email then the confirmation and then the other 1/2 when they check in.
