Hi everyone! I'm not a DVC member (yet) and I currently like to rent points for my vacations. But my question is this - with the new dining plan announced, would I still be eligible for that even if I rent points from a DVC member?

Thanks so much for the help!

Yes, but there is no free dining for DVC members. Ask the person your are renting from to add it to your reservation.

Based on when you add it to your reservation, you will either pay for it when you check in or when you add it to the reservation. Or, rather, the member will pay for it when they add it to the reservation. So you may have to pay for the entire reservation when you make it. DVC is changing the way they collect the fee for the dining plan.

It sounds like you are asking if whether you qualify to get free dining if you rent points. The answer is no. You can only get free dining if you book a package directly with Disney.

You can still add and pay for the dining plan through your rental. As PP mentioned, however, when you have to pay for it will depend on what is going on when you add it. The rules are changing and we have heard fall, but someone posted the other day that they were told January.
