Question about rental car drop off at the Port

I have been looking at rental cars for our upcoming trip in May. When I look at Avis, I notice they have two different locations with same address, only one says cruise port shuttle. Do you have to drop off at the cruise port shuttle one or can you use the other one. The reason I ask is that the non cruise location is a little cheaper. The location codes are P35 or Y6C

Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks,

I also found the idea of Avis having two locations (although with the same address) at Port Canaveral very confusing and I was worried that I would book my rental car at the wrong location. So I emailed Avis and asked just which location I should be using. The reply I got back was:

Avis Port Canaveral Vehicle Return - Location Code: Y6C

Avis Port Canaveral Vehicle Pickup - Location Code: P3F

I’m a first time Disney cruiser so you might want to double check my information, but this is what Avis has told me. (and what I've used to book) The fact that you were able to get two different prices on renting a car from either location is something I find quite interesting. Good luck on your car rental.

Just whatever you do, I would do it quick. Four months to my cruise, I started looking at rental cars and I can't return a car to any car rental agencies near the port because they are full. This means, if I want a car I am going to have to keep it and pay for it while we are on the ship and return it to Orlando when we are done.

I havent been able to get Avis price any lower than Budgets, so we use them almost all the time at the port.

my rate through Costco was cheaper from Budget than Avis. Went with Budget because we also got a SMall SUV for cheaper than standard car. I will continue to monitor and see if price goes down any. HOpe so because if not, we may just have a car to get to port and then one to go back to airport.

I have an avis reservation from MCO to the Port and from the Port back to MCO at end of cruise....I booked both with the P3F Shuttle for Cruise Ships location. I called today and talked to the national avis desk and they said if you want to take the shuttles to and from the ship, to book the P3F. Honestly since both are the same exact address, I doubt either will be an issue. I got a base rate of $51 including taxes from the port to MCO for a one day rental, and a rate of $47 from MCO to the port for a one day rental including tax. Both are for a full size car...not sure if that's good or not but I have been an avis renter for 20 years and so it's easier for me to stick with them.

I've used this Avis location a few times and there is no difference. It does not matter if you are dropping off or picking up a car, its the same place.

For Avis, it does matter which one you book. The one that has the port shuttle includes the port fee that Port Canaveral charges Avis. The other location code is meant for people needing a car, but not involving the port. I don't know how the logistics work about the Port collecting from Avis (or if that's even true), but that's what the Avis people tell me.
