Hi all,
Our Deluxe AP's expire on June 13th, and I am thinking we probably will not renew them. The question I have is that I have been googling and looking at the disney.com website trying to find out if they plan on giving us a discounted offer to renew. Do they do this? If so, how much of a discount would they likely offer?

We will still be visiting Disneyland every year, but just not as often as this year.

Thanks for any help you could provide.

Lisa:)

For the past few years, Disneyland has give $20 off as the renewal discount for the Deluxe and Premium APs. Factor in that June 2011 was when they raised prices AGAIN for APs (when it used to be in August), it could be a savings of $50 or more if you renew.

Interesting that they are offering an extra perk.

We are in a similar situation, ours expire July 10th, and we want to continue, however, after our early June trip, we are probably not going to be in Anaheim until late September.

What are our options? would it be smarter to renew or to maybe buy a costco package for September and start over? or would it matter, do they backdate the new AP to your old expiration anyway?

I have the SAME question as i heard a rumor they backdate AP renewals. Our APs expire 6/6 and we will not be renewing for at least 3 months in part to be cost effective. I would absolutely hate if they were backdated and tink that would be illegal since i would effectively lose >3 months of usage!!!

My son's AP expired Dec 12th, and we went in and "renewed" his on the 27th, and his new pass expires Dec 27th next year.

Did you get the $20 off? If you don't want the $20 off (for Deluxe and Premium APs only so if you get a So Cal or So Cal Select, it doesn't matter), then you can get it at any time and not have it backdated.

I forgot about the 20% off purchase of $50 or more. That has been the promotion as well for the past few years (on top of the $20 off).

No, having it expire the 27th next year was more important than the $20. And we don't need the 20% as we are PAPs and already get 20% off all purchases.

Consider if it will save you or not.

$20 off that is good.

20% off a $50 or more purchase, only good if you plan a purchase of that size. Really though it's only 10% off, you alread get the other 10% off for a Delux, this will save $5 and up if you spend over $50.

While not know the OP is likely to be in thier renewal window to save more if they can beat a AP price increase, which is likely at her time.

If you are not going to be visiting after you renewal anniversary wiegh the cost of an AP verses the discounts. A delux is worth $379/365days= $1.04/day. So if not visiting in the 3 weeks after the anniversary, you could forgo the renewal discount and save over $21 or immediate costs. Potentially have a pass that would cover over more future visits.

Interesting...they told me when I called today, that if you renew within 30 days of expiration you get the 20 bucks off!

This is the ticket here, if that value is $1.04 per day and you are not visiting for nearly 3 months past anniversary, you are saving roughly $90 per AP, in my case 4, 1 deluxe and 3 premium, so that answers that :) and waiting until October, vice July for us, also guarantees another Halloween time visit, which is one of the best times of the year.

Thanks!
