Hi everyone!

This is probably something that has been asked before but I can't seem to find any info on it.

Does anyone know approximately when you receive your luggage tags and information book in the mail? I booked in early September and received a small brochure type booklet shortly after booking. We cruised last year and I know that sometime after receiving that booklet we received a more in-depth book and our luggage tags. I just can't remember how far out we received those.

We cruise November 8th!

Thanks in advance!

You will probably get them in a little over a week. We cruise on 10/31 and got our docs today!! :cool1:

Thanks guys! I'm just about at my 30 day mark :cool1: so it sounds like they should be here soon!

Well, I've passed the 30 day mark and still no packet and luggage tags. So, I'm starting to get a little nervous!

I don't think we ever got them at 30 days....it is usually in the 2 1/2 to 3 week area.

We have 2 cabins. Got our tags for one on Friday and the other today. We sail 11/1.

:cool1: WooHoo! This makes me feel a whole lot better! You're going exactly one week before us so we should be getting ours this Friday or next Monday! Thanks for posting and making me worry a little less!

We are crusing Jan 23rd and recd our "packet" from Expedia but never got luggage tags, is this a big deal? Expedia said don't worry about it, and I suppose we just use plain old tags but I was dissapointed. They said to reissue them was $50!

First, if you aren't cruising till Jan.23, your luggage tags won't even be sent until after Christmas. You should get 2 mailings from DCL--one at about 90 days from sailing and another about 3 weeks before sailing.

Secondly, even if you don't get the package with the luggage tags, it's no big deal. You can do the online check in and print out the signature pages (this makes life easiest at the terminal.) If you don't get your luggage tags, and are using DCL transfers, tell the CM at the Welcome Center that you didn't get them. He/she will record the numbers of your baggage claim checks and handle everything for you. If you are using private transportation, the porters at the terminal will be able to give you the luggage tags--usually they just put them on the suitcases for you. If you are going to WDW first, the CM at the cruise desks at most of the resorts can give you the tags.

Bottom line, no worries, and DON'T pay a fee. And Expedia is crazy--I'm absolutely sure that your documents haven't been printed yet. You go the 90 day packet, not the 30 day packet!

We usually get our docs around the 10-12 day mark before the cruise.

WE GOT OUR TRAVEL BOOKLETS WITH THE CRUISE DOCUMENTS AND LUGGAGE TAGS TODAY!! :cool1:

Getting those just make it seem so much closer and more of a reality!

They did, however, spell our son's first name incorrectly so I've contacted our travel agent to get that fixed. Hopefully it won't be too much trouble to get it fixed.

No, everyone gets luggage tags. If you are using DCL transfers, you put them on before you leave your home airport. If you are using another method of transportation, you put them on before you leave for the cruise terminal (after you have claimed your bags at MCO).

Just a quick question about luggage tags, we are driving so we still need to put them on our luggage correct but i'm a little confused as to do we keep them on or do they have to be replaced once the cruise is over?

Thanks. My 1st cruise & I didn't know.

The luggage tags that you get in the mail will go on your luggage before you drop it off with the porters at the terminal. They tell the crew which stateroom the bags go to. When you are preparing to go home, you will remove them and replace them with the luggage tags that you will receive in your stateroom. These will be coded by color and character to make it easier to find your luggage in the terminal the next morning.

Are the luggage tags only if you are using DCL transfer?

The ones that I was referring to are the ones needed at the port. Don't know if these are also the ones used for DCL transfer. :confused3 We are driving to the port ourselves and these are the ones that we needed for dropping our luggage with the porter.
