If we go to DLR on Nov. 11th (which is Veteran's Day weekend) and decide to leave the park around 1:00 for a break, will we be able to re-enter the park if they have closed the gates because they are at full capacity?

Personally, I wouldn't chance it, but here's how DL closes:

Level 1--ticket booths stop selling tickets. Anyone with previously purchased tickets can still get in.

Level 2--No new enteries for non-DLR hotel guests/day guests and APs.

Level 3--No more new AP entries.

Level 4--No new DLR hotel guests entries.

Level 5--No re-enteries.

It generally takes quite a while to go from level 1 to level 5 and just because they stopped selling tickets doesn't mean that they'll go to any of the other levels.

Hmmm...maybe we'll just plan on a full day then. I'm a bit concerned about our 5-yr-old grandson being able to handle it though. That's a lot of stimulation for an already over-stimulated little boy. :lmao:

Maybe we can find an out of the way place for him to wind down. Somewhere where we can spread a blanket out and he could maybe lie down for a bit. Any suggestions?

I haven't ever been to the park at that time but why would Veterans day be so busy? Only time I've experienced park closure is Christmas day or New Years eve.

I think it's because Veteran's Day weekend, this year, and last, is also the official holiday opening of the park. According to MousePlanet, they closed the park to new arrivals last year, so I am expecting the same this year.

I can't think of a place to lay a blanket down - but I do know of places for a little quiet away from the crowds.

The Hungry Bear Restaurant in critter country during non-meal times. You can watch the water and the ducks. There is also a restroom right there.

Tom Sawyer Island is a nice place too - but it's closed now and after it reopens I bet it will be very popular.

It is also less crowded on the path around BTMRR on the way to the petting zoo/Big Thunder Ranch.

The area near IASM at the start/end of the parade path is usually people free.

You might want to try just staying on the train - that would have motion and not be too crowded.

Nov 11/05 was the busiest day we have ever seen at the parks!:scared1: It was at least as bad as the year we were there on the 4th of July. The Veteran's Day weekend used to be our favorite time to head to Anaheim but not anymore....:sad1: That being said, we still had a terrific time! We left DL about 1:00 because it was just too packed and went to CA - got in no problem despite the appearance of the lineups. We were told that the lineups at CA were so bad because DL had closed (don't know what level they were at but wow). We didn't have any trouble getting back into DL during the evening and we closed the park.
