We are going 11/23 thru 12/2 the 11/23 to 11/26 are regular rates and the remaining dates are value. Do I get charged regular rates for the entire stay because that is when we started our stay or do they charge according to the actual rates for each day? i.e. 11/23-26 regular and 11/27-12/2 value?
TIA!!

Since the rate drops to "value" mid-way through your trip, you will be charged the reduced room rate on the date that it takes affect. Your itemized bill will reflect the reduction.

I'm not sure that's right. I thought you got charged the rate in effect on the first day of your stay for the entire stay, regardless of whether the rate goes up or down during the stay. Can anyone else clarify and/or confirm one way or the other?

This is my understanding as well. From everything I have read here on the DIS, you are charged the same rates throughout your stay. If your stay starts in a cheaper season and ends in a more expensive season, then it works to your advantage (that is how things worked for us last July and will again next May). But from my understanding, if you start out in the expensive season and it gets cheaper, you are at a disadvantage and if you want the savings, then you must have separate bookings, which may be more hassle than the savings depending on if you have a package or whatnot.

HTH :)

You will be charged the rate in effect the day you check in. If the rate changes during your stay you would need to make 2 reservations to take advantage of it.

You would ask to have your reservations linked to reduce the possibility of having to change rooms.

WOW - I stand corrected then. When I booked our reservation for Feb. 9 - Feb. 17, 2007 I was told (by the woman taking my reservations) that the last day of our stay (Fri., Feb. 16th) was considered "Peak" season and that the price of my room would go up for that last night. If you are all correct though (and I am sure you all know your "stuff"), my room rate should not go up on the 16th.

Sorry I misinformed you Tia. Would it be to your advantage to book two separate reservations (to take advantage of the "value" room price)?

Kathy :)

Thanks everyone, I think I am going to have to call and see what they can do for me because I shouldn't have to pay more just because I am staying longer...lol
