Question about pt transfer

I am still new to DVC and I was wondering how many pt transfers are allowed per use yr? TIA

One per master contract includes transferring in or out. Just found out from MS of Friday.

I have a follow up question on this - if you own contracts with different use years, and you need to use both to book your vacation do you use one and borrow the points that you need to borrow back (from one) and then transfer them to your other use year to book your ressie?

For example, we are looking at an add on but the use year is different. We wll need to use this years points on both contracts, plus borrow most of our 2010 points to go and stay where we want to be. Would we use say our March points, borrow our 2010 points back and then transfer all of them to our June use year and then borrow from 2010 there as well and book the ressie with the June use year contract?

You can't transfer borrowed points, so once borrowed the points would have to stay in your March contract.

I am sure one of the experts with multiple contracts will chime in, but if both contracts are for the same home resort, the only advantage to transferring is that you can add points together to book a single night. For example, if you only have 10 points left in your March contract, you could transfer those 10 points to your June contract, add them to 25 points you already had in your June contract and make a reservaiton for a night that requries 35 points.

When booking all other nights, just book from one contract until there are not enough points left to book any more nights, then start booking with the other contract, again until you don't have enough points to book any more nights, then transfer to join any orphan points needed to book the remaining night.
