Question about PriceLine.com

Has anyone used the Name your own Price for a car rental on Priceline.com? Can Canadian residence use it? I looked and it says they accept Canadian Credit card billing addresses but when you get to the drivers license portion it says car rental agents require an international drivers license. We've rented tons of times in the US and they never asked for that before. So I'm a bit confused. We thought if we can get a good deal on a car rental that is the same price(or close to it) for us to use the shuttle to go to and from LAX to DL then it might be worth it. Then we have the freedom if we want to go shopping for an afternoon or evening.

I use PL frequently and have never had an issue with my Alberta driver's license.

You know how sometimes we're "international" and sometimes it's "oh, you're from Canada, we don't count that as international"? For driver's licenses, we count as family. Our licenses are in English (well, most of them) and are in a familiar format so the rental people know what they look like.

Never a problem renting in the US with a Canadian driver's license.

Thanks guys. We have rented in the US a number of times. But just seeing on the PL site that you need an international DL just through me off. I guess I will place a bid to see if I can get a car rental for a decent price. Right now an economy car is sitting at $37/day from Dollar to everyone else $50+/day. If I can get it for like $15/day it would be so worth it. I will let you know how I did. Although I am waiting until the new year to bid!

We had no problems with PL in Hawaii in Dec. In fact, I used them as a last resort because I was having a hard time finding a reasonable price for a 4WD. (DH had a few off the beaten path type of places he wanted to explore) We actually ended up getting a SUV for 25/day which was about 45% less than anything else I had found-it was a great deal, I love PL!
