Question about pre-park opening breakfast at BOG in MK

So as I understand it if my wife and I get an 8:30am reservation when MK opens at 9am we can get into the park early and potentially get a jump on a ride or two.

My question is, is there a minimum on how much you have to order at breakfast? I see meals are $25/plate. This is tough to justify because we aren't big breakfast eaters. Can my wife and I share something? What if, in order to utilize getting to the park early, we go to our breakfast reservation and each just order a coffee or other small drink item?

Sorry if this isn't allowed I just really am genuinely curious because if this is against the rules I want to know in advance so I can abide by them as much as possible.

At the current time, you can show up as a party of 10 (with ADR, of course) for a PPO, order ONE Mickey Straw, and you're good.

They may crack down on this. Or may not given how long this has been permitted.

You can order as much or as little as you want, but I’m not sure that will help you. Unless something has changed, you aren’t free to ride anything early. You can’t leave the restaurant vicinity. There is a line you can get in to ride Seven Drawfs Mine Train, that’s it. Right at official opening or maybe a couple of minutes before, they will escort the line over to that ride and let you get on first before the rope drop people at the gates. That’s about the only advantage there is and to be toward the front of that line, means eating as close to 8:00 as possible. 8:30 would be late. You might not get through until 9:00 or after even if you didn’t order much. Just depends on how busy they are and how close to 8:30 they let you in.

If you are still interested, I’d arrive at the park between 7:00 and 7:30 and try to make it to the restaurant as close to 8:00 as possible. Sometimes they’ll let you in earlier than your ADR time. You’ll have to go through security and the gate, and then you’ll be directed to check in at the Liberty bridge. Then you’ll have to check in at the podium outside of the restaurant. They may or may not let you go straight in at this point. If you’ve preordered your food online, they will direct you to a line to go in and pay. If you didn’t preorder, you go to a separate line to order before continuing on to pay. Preorder if you are in a hurry. That cuts out one extra line you won’t have to stand in. Once through both lines, you are free to go choose a seat. Your food is brought to you later on. I don’t really think ordering less or more makes much of a difference in how fast you get it. It’s kind of like at a fast food place where you may only order fries, but there are 10 people who ordered combos in front of you. You’re still stuck waiting for your number to come up. Once you’re done, you’re free to leave the restaurant. Although, you’ll still be held in the area immediately outside of it. You are free to get in the Seven Dwarf line at this point or to line up for another close by ride, but rides won’t start running until official opening.

See below for a good review of the process with pics and what to expect. The review matches up with my 2018 PPO experience fairly well. Although, I think we did get a bit more of a head start, but only by a few minutes.
