It pains me to say this but with each passing day and the direction of covid cases I think our November, long planned multi generational trip seems less likely to happen.
Our travel party is definitely on the more cautious, better safe than sorry mindset when it comes to the pandemic and just this week the conversations of “if we decide not to go…..” have started.
We are newer DVC owners. We hardly had the chance to enjoy it before all of this mess began, which also means I have zero experience with cancelling a trip with dvc.
can the group provide any insight or best practices? We are a December use year, with some 2021 points being used and some banked 2020. Are we doomed to be out all of those at this stage in the game?
we also had a non dvc trip april 2020 that was obviously cancelled. We had only bought tickets by that point. They extended that expiration to this month, but said when I called they said I could apply the amountpaid toward a new ticket. I was going to call this week originally to do that, set up tickets for our November trip, and now I’m wondering do I not do that because if we endup cancelling they may not be as gracious with the expiration issue? Not getting the new ticket of course no park reservations and truthfully I am just very confused and conflicted.
At the time we booked this we were very hopeful there would be vaccines available to children and clearly that will not be the case
thanks for your insights.
