First ever cruise. If we all do snorkeling, where can we keep wallet/purse with documents while we are in the water?

First ever cruise. If we all do snorkeling, where can we keep wallet/purse with documents while we are in the water?

When I have done excursions either private or through the ship that involve snorkeling/swimming, they have a locker or chest that you put your bags in that is locked until the end of the excursion.
