Question about Poly longhouse request

We are spending 3 nights at the Poly (first time!) around Thanksgiving. Booked a standard view room.

The most important things to us are 1) quiet/privacy and 2) a balcony.

Is it better to request a specific longhouse or room through Touring Plans? Or is it better to just request quiet room and balcony on the Disney room request? What are the options for the Disney room request at the Poly and when should I do this?

We don't care about how far we are from buses or TTC because we are only going to MK while at the Poly. My husband does need to work out every day, so I guess he will have to walk to the GF. Is it a far walk if we are not in a longhouse closest to the GF?

Thanks for any tips!

We have stayed at the Poly twice. I requested a specific longhouse/room location both times and my requests were honored.

I made sure to tell our travel agent our requests and I faxed the resort 3-4 days before we arrived and asked for a specific longhouse and room location.

It is a pretty good walk to the GF, but since your husband is going to work out, he probably won't mind the jog.

I would call and have your requests added (which you can do at any time) and list the requests in order of importance (just like you have it above, if quiet/privacy takes precedence over a balcony). I can't help with Touring Plans as I've never done anything with them, but hopefully others who have used them will give some input. As far as the walk to the GF, it's not long and only takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :wizard:.

We have also stayed at the Polynesian several times, and we always request specific rooms and every time we stayed in our requested rooms. We will be back there next week.

We found the walk to Grand Floridian to be incredibly short actually! :)

A word of advice, when you call to have your request added, I would call again to make sure it actually happened. They kept messing mine up one time, every person would say "there's nothing noted." Last time I did it, they sent me an email with my itinerary (I think that's what they sent) and I could see my request on there. :)
